Why do people respect this girl so much when she's really full of herself

I know a girl who is really full of herself. But how come people like and respect her?

people are all about being fake, i can almost guarantee they don't respect her when she is not around. unfortunatly, if she is stuck on herself, then others are probably just trying to get her attention. we all like a challenge in life you know?

I know a few people like that too.. They are probably only acting like they like her and respect her but inside they probably really don't. I don't kow why people do that though.

It might be that they like confident people. I know that it is easier for me to hold a conversation with someone confident. Don't get me wrong, I can't stad stuck up people who are rude. Confident people I can deal with.
