I am a wimp when it comes to some movies, this is the time of the year that i think about the old movie titled: "Imitation of Life". That is a movie that I can look at over and over.and everytime I will cry and cry.Does anyone remember that movie?
I had my own copy of the movie, but loaned it to my brother and never got it back.

Oh yes, I am a cry baby on this one too. I felt sorry for the mother. She kept trying to love her daughter, but her only child kept turning her away because she was ashame of her color. The daughter was raised in a home where she was loved and well taken care of, but she kept giving her mother a hard time. Sometimes this movies teaches me to give more attention to my mother, not just on mother's day. You only have one mother and they won't be around forever.

Yes it is rare to find people that have seen Imitation of Life. I have watched this movie for years and when I was in the seventh grade I did a report on it and everyone was like, where did this movie come from. It is a classic and a great movie to see. So is American History X. Imitation of life is in a class by itself and you have to see it. It used to air every year but I have not been able to catch it lately. The part at the end with the girl running after her moms casket, then they had Mahalia Jackson belting out that song Trouble of the world...ok I'll stop, but its a great movie for anyone to see.

I've never seen that movie. But I'm a wimp too when it comes to sad movies. Lassie gets lost and I need a half box of kleenex. My kids think it's funny. I don't even have to ask anymore. They see something sad is going on on the TV and they run to get the box of kleenex for me.

Imitation of Life is a wonderful and beautiful movie. It really deals with the masks we wear in life. You also would probably enjoy Mildred Pierce, with Joan Craweford, another epic story. Enjoy!
