Movies that make us cry

There are many movies out there that I know I cry to no matter how many times I've seen them. Do you have one that makes you a bit weepy?
One for me is Armageddon. There are several spots in there where I get a bit weepy. Of course the scene near the end when Bruce Willis says goodbye really gets to me. The first time I saw it was blubbering idiot :) Him willing to sacrifice himself to save the others and the fact that he was able to tell his daughter goodbye before it happened is just jammed packed with raw emotion.
So do you have one and if so which part in particular gets to you?

That's a good example and one of my favourite films, thought the best in the world. I get a little misty when that scene is on, the one where he is saying goodbye to Grace.
One film that always gets me is the scene in the Patriot (the Mel Gibson one) where the daughter Susan runs after Ben begging him not to go, that she'll say anything to get him to stay.

That's where I lose it too with that scene. Now after watching it numerous times I don't get as bad but I think it will always get to me.
I haven't seen the Patriot yet. I want to just hasn't been one I've gotten to. However Mel's Braveheart I get emotional at especially while he's up there being tortured so that he will confess to the crimes.

Don't ask me why it posted that picture under my comment. Just thought I'd say that. I did add the picture in the interests area but that shouldn't have made it show up here.

Yeah that can happen especially if the storyline hits close to home. I've had some like that as well.

I cry in Patriotic movies and I cry anytime a parent loses a kid in a movie, I just can't handle that. I can't handle that in real life either, parents are not supposed to out live their kids and that's just something that really really upsets me and makes me cry.

Oh I agree with you. Those are sections that always get to me as well. Even in LOTR when Theodin is talking about losing his son I get emotional. Not quite weepy but there is a good size lump in my throat.

Real stories are some of the best ones at making us cry. I know myself the ones I've watched like Lorenzo's Oil, The Other Side of the Mountain, Brian's Song, and The Boy in the Plastic Bubble really got to me.

Actually I can understand that. Dumbo isn't one of my favorites but the one scene where he's with his mother's trunk (that's all you can see of her due to her being caged) and her rocking him in it just gets to me every time.

With Ghost you laugh, you cry, you laugh again. It's one of those that really bring out all your emotions. They did an excellent job with it.

I don't see much hollywood movies but whenever I get the chance I utilize that in the best possible manner.
there are many such films where I involved my self with the characters but out of the many I think the BEST is the TITANIC..it really made me cried and set me to thrill with all my body hairs standing tall..

Oh I understand it made me cry too. Still does when I watch it although of course now not as much as the first time. It's amazing how they can sucker us into the movie enough to get us to cry that way.

I cry too much the Movie 'IF ONLY' jennefer love hewitt but i forgot the guy..the movie is so meaningfull to all the guys out there that take the girl for granted.and it has a lesson on it that 'You dnt know what will happen in you life next, maby die or still alive,so make good things happen in your life now, show to your love ones that they are important to you show them u care for them, let them know you love them,BEFORE ITS TOO LATE'...

And even though we know it will make us cry we love to watch it, maybe because we know it will. I agree that one is a tear jerker. Many of those out there. The ones that make you cry, then laugh, then cry again are usually always worth watching many times.

I cried during the Green Mile. Step Mom made me cry too. This isn't a movie but I always cry when they televise the space shuttle coming home. I can't even control the tears. I am such a baby!

Oh I cried during that movie as well. It was very well done.
The shuttle coming home I cry at too, relief that they made it home. So you aren't alone in that one at all.

Well as i'm a bit of a mouldy oldy it's "Brief Encounter" for me! Geez they don't make films like that anymore. The part that gets me reaching for the tissues is at the end where the husband says to the woman "you've been a long way away, i'm glad you came back to me". Blub

Some are just classic. I hope they will continue to make some of that quality. However if they don't at least we can continue to watch the ones we love on DVD.

I am a military wife, and knew I would have to take a box of kleenex with me when I went to see The Guardian. I just never knew just how emotional I actually would have been, what hit me the most is my husband just got off of work when we went to go see it, He is in the US Coast Guard! But to watch this movie, holding your husband's hand, glancing at him with tears in his eyes as well....nothing hit more close to home then being there with him.
It really is an awesome movie, and thank you to all of the men and women that serve in EVERY branch!

Thank you for the warning :) I'll make sure to have a box with me when I see it. It's great though to have a movie that effects both of you that way. I love movies like that.

I loved Armageddon with Bruce Willis. I also cried during different parts in the movie. I have seent his movie many times and cry every time. I also like a movie called Practicle Magice and it is another tear jerker but I won't stop watching that on either. My sixteen year old daughter sits and laughs at me whey I cry. I have even been known to cry watching home make over with Tye Pennigton.
Every time I get sertain movies out to watch my husband or my daughter go and get me a box of kleenex.

There are definitely some you cannot watch without the kleenex near by. I don't care how many times I watch them I still cry. I love Practical Magic as well. Good movie. I cry too at the one point. It gets me every time.
