Isuggest to change, the avg is one of the best actually.
It is slim, fast and free!!!
The Symantec is not so good as you think and it could make very slow your Operative System.
Let me know if you think changing it.
If you need help I'm here for you ;)

I am using Eset's Nod 32 antivirus system. Its the best anti virus money can get for you and its really cheap. I have already used solutions from Mcafee and Norton. So i have a bit of experience and i say that NOD 32 is the best i ever used. Its a install and forget software. Its updates are low on size. Its scanning is faster than any other anti virus i used. It uses up very little memory and doesn't affect the performance at all. Its has got all the features an average user needs. It also takes advantage of the 64bit processors and dual core ones. Its new version is vista ready. Some of my friends use AVG. Its the best free antivirus out there according to them. BUt NOD 32 detected some trojans and worms in their Hard Disks, when connected to my PC,which AVG couldnt find. I suggest you invest a little on NOD 32 to get the best protection for your PC.

I have try Mcafee, Norton, AFG (free edition), Avast (free edition). The only one which could remove all the trojan on my computer was Mcafee. So I decided to install Mcafee and I think it's the best!

I have Symantec Endpoint Protection V11.0.1000.1375-DVT installed on my computer. It is registered and freeware Anti-Virus from Symantec which does not need buying. It is protecting my computer for one year now and I never have faced any problem ever since it installed on my computer.

we have Avast - it's a free download for private users and it's been really good. Nortons used to play havoc with our PC. would workd for a while then we'd need to reformat. Also used VET (I believe it's an Aussie programme)for a while - that was good but we had to pay again and it got expensive. For now Avast seems to be doing the job and doing it well.

hello humaaaa,
you have started a nice discussion.antivirus software are a real necessity now a days as we are accessing internet all the time and there is 100% risk to get the pc infected.and moreover new viruses are being created day by day.so our computer's security and privacy is a must.
for this i use zone alarm security suite.it comes with a package of antivirus, antispyware and firewall.so i don't need any other software.
but being more security concern i have installed spybot search and destroy antispyware program.
