* emptying the dishwasher (even if it's only silverware she's helping with) * setting the table for dinner * feeding/watering pets * dusting tables and shelves * general tidying around the house * making the bed hope that helps some.

She can dust, fold the clothes from the dryer, empty the dishwasher, brush the toilets, straighten out books and magazines.

great ideas. She's not all that cooridinated to sweep floors as she does have some motor problems. She does do more than I think she does. *S* But she makes more messes then she cleans!!!!!

Help with the dishes, whether dishwasher or by hand. Fold her own laundry and put it away, or fold towels, match and pair socks. Sweep with a vacuum, or a broom. Dusting, but not with a spray. Wiping down windows with window cleaner, especially front and back door, where she probably leaves fingerprints. Same with mirrors. Have fun finding a good fit.

Just give her some ideas, basic chores not those ones that are hard. It is important for kids to experience the whole child life first while they're still not a grown up. Technically, they need to play but it's not that bad if you want 'em to teach something that will be helpful like chores.

At 8 my son had several small chores he was responsible for: vacuuming making his bed putting all his dirty laundry in his hamper and taking it to the laundry room on wash day AND taking care of his laundry when it was finished taking care of his toys keeping the sink and toilet clean in his bathroom feeding and cleaning up after his cat I would ask him to do other things to help if he wasn't doing his homework and I was busy but those were the things HE was responsible for and had to do at that age.
