I am so upset with Kohl's...

A few weeks back I ordered a pair of pants and a hoodie that my daughter wanted from Kohls. Eventually the pants came, but I kept waiting and waiting for the shirt. When it didn't arrive yet so close to Christmas, I called them. They told me that the shirt had been unavailable when I ordered it so they'd cancelled the order. Why did you let me order something that wasn't available? I'm sorry. Why didn't you notify me that the order was cancelled? It's on your receipt shipped with the pants? No, it isn't. I'm sorry. What are you going to do about this? We can cancel the order, ma'am. Thanks a lot! Have you had incidents with stores like this that you'd like to share? People just don't give customer service like they used to.

I had an incident similar to this when I ordered items from Lakeside Collectables. Every year we order some things from them and have never had a problem. This year I ordered 2 scrolled mirrors for our bedroom. The first one arrived - broken. I sent it back and asked for a replacement. The second one arrived - perfect. I waited and waited for my replacement to arrive. I send them a couple emails to see what's going on. I finally find a phone number to call them after I see that they credited my credit card. I call and they tell me that the item has been discontinued so they issued my money back. I now have 1 scrolled mirror for my bedroom - when the display I wanted to do called for 2.

Isn't that frustrating! You should have sent the other one back. I've ordered from Lakeside on occasion, too, and I haven't had any problem. But that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I guess these places just want your money and don't care what happens to you. Hopefully you'll come up with something cool to do with one mirror.

I had thought about sending that other mirror back too, but it had cost me $11 to return the broken one to them. The original cost of the mirror was only $15. So it wasn't worth it.

I'm a huge fan of Kohls and this really disappoints me. They should have informed you that they had to cancel the order. Did u get ur money back or did u not pay for the order at the time?

I used my credit card since I ordered online, and they just never took the money out since the item wasn't available.

I feel pretty awful. Kohl's is my daughter's favorite store, and the clothes we had ordered were what she really wanted. I've never figured out why anyone would ship half an outfit when the other half is unavailable. Thanks for responding! How's your snow situation?

oh wow that is just sucky!! Anytime something couldn't be ordered that I have ordered online they said it couldn't be on the website & the slip of paper that comes with it. Never have I had it not tell me something wouldn't be coming.

I've had it happen twice this Christmas alone. You are fortunate that you have not had problems.

Most of the time? I wouldn't mind so much if I were just ordering something for myself, but when I'm ordering something for a special occasion, like a Christmas gift, it's very annoying.

Yes, usually Kohls does have decent customer service. Here is my experience: my hubby bought me a sweater for Christmas, (sorry it was too Grandma-ish for me), so I was returning it. I figured I'd wait until this past weekend. I had the receipt, no problem, I thought that everyone else would of did their returns during the 2 weeks between Christmans and now. Wrong, the line was 15 people deep. I only had a 1/2 hour because my hubby dropped me off and was coming back to pick me up. When I left the store, he asked where the replacement sweater was. I said that I was in line so long that I did not have time to look around, that I would come back another day.

I had a minor one yesterday at Walgreens. I ordered some old pictures that my mother-in-law has been asking for ever since my five year old was a baby to give her for Christmas. I placed the order online. When I went to pick them up, the clerk told me that they had already been sold. I checked with my husband and he hadn't gotten them. I placed the order again. I got the order confirmation email, and order ready email. Then, right after that I got two emails saying my order was canceled. I called and they said the lady that bought the pictures the first time had brought them back. So.... I go there again to get the pictures and when I go to pay the register won't take it because the other lady already paid for them.. I stand and wait for someone to instruct the clerk. He gets that right and then HAS TO GET CHANGE!!!! All this time I am trying to keep a five year old quiet and content. AAARRRRGGG!!! I didn't say anything though. I didn't think it would make any difference. All that for six dollars worth of pictures. LOL!!!

This is far too common a problem, and it's about time that companies realised the true value of customers. They are obviously very busy due to the seasonal rush, and consider that their time is better used by fullfilling other people's orders in order to sell as much as possible. This is a major mistake, because they will want customers next year and this type of callous treatment is certainly not the way to keep customers. I can never understand how a business can allow a fast profit to blind them of the danger of losing future business.

Maybe they got so busy since it's the holidays and all. But, I still think they should've called and say something to you about that.

I had an "interesting" incident at Target a few weeks ago. We went there to get a lighthouse (part of the Christmas collection). Needless to say the display was the last one there. We asked if we could buy it and their answer dumbfounded me and my hubby. "No, you can't, we donate all of our displays to charity the week before Christmas". Isn't Target the store that wouldn't let charities on their property?.. - the bell ringers for the Sal. Army, etc. Wouldn't it be better to let someone buy the display and then send THAT money to charity?.. instead of a useless lighthouse?

That was not good, i cannot say that it's really Khol's fault because i had a different experience with them, it's a good experience and not bas as what you write down. Maybe it's just that employee, what you can do is talk to a manager on that store and tell your story, im pretty sure they will make it up to you.

I know the feeling! I'm sooooooo disgusted with American Signature furniture! I bought a bed, and when it was delivered and put together, first thing they left a mess on my living room floor. They left the itty bitty pieces of styrofoam on the floor and I have young children. Then second they put the bed together knowing that it was defective, asked me to sign for the delivery w/o giving me the chance to look at it and then left! I was outraged, the bed looks horrible and I paid a forturne for it. I called the store, they stated they would have a new one delivered in a week, well a week later no bed and i get the excuse that their corporate forgot to put it on the truck and I would have the new one next week! Well, guess what, a week later and still no bed and I get the same phone call! This time I tell them this is unacceptable, so they manager states he will have the operations manager call me....I wait and wait 3 days and no call. At this point I'm infuriated and can't sleep in the bed in fear that the canopy is going to fall. The only answer I get from the operations manager is that they will receive a new bed in January, they are out of stock! UGHH! We searched for 8 months for bedroom furniture, then when we find it this is what happens!

What is Kohl's? A brand, a store? It's terrible. They don't respect us, costumers. It's more and more bad to get respect from people that want our money.

yes it happens a lot of times. but really this is bad that they should understand the meaning of commitment. anyways.. in future you got a lesson and could be a little more careful to avoid such bad experiences.

Most of these kind of situations might be faced well in hotels especially when it happens to be late really they make us frustrated. As soon as the menu card is served and the order is taken after 10 to 15 min of time they come back to us and cooly tell that the item we have ordered has been over and again we need to choose another item. But they dont understand that we are starving here and it happens everywhere too.
