Oh dear...
Ok, first of all that's very insulting & very judgemental. That's like asking "What's up with wiches/wiccans/pagans, don't they worship the devil?"
Just because people dress different and look different & choose to not comform & be little sheep wearing trendy old navy, american eagle & hollister clothing doesn't mean that they worship the devil.
I've been part of "The Scene" now for allmost 9 years and I have yet to meet someone that -I- truly consider to be goth that is a devil worshipper.
Most of the goth's that I know offline and online are either Christian, pagans or either they aren't religous at all.
There are metal heads, mansonites, satanists and even some rivetheads that might "worship the devil" but they aren't "goth"
There's a fine line between goth and the others, but the people who don't know or take time to research the subcultures would have no idea. Just because alot of the above mentioned "subcultures" tend to have a few things in common (IE: dark makeup, tats, piercings, black clothing, love for darkness etc...) does not mean that they all fit into the same catergory. In fact they are al very different withonly a few things in common. There are also people that cross-cultures. There can be gothic-metal heads, or mansonite goths, satanic metal heads, grivets (goth rivetheads), goth punks, gravers (goth ravers), there are even some christian goths (I'm on a christian goth Elist) etc etc...
So you see throwing all black clad, pierced face, dark lipstick wearing people into the catergory of "goth" is not as simple as you'd think. So you see it's alot deeper than you might have thought, huh? I even know people who rarely wear black, don't have any tats or piercings who are still very gothy. In this lovely darkness it's not about just a style of dress, it's a whole lot more like attitude, beliefs, music, dark art etc...
I myself don't know if I would fall into the typical goth catergory anymore, I don't wear black that much anymore but I still am in love with the music & fashions, I do wear them when I go out to a goth night & I do still listen to the music allmost everyday. But I also dress "normal" alot & I like Ashlee Simpson & some other mainstream top 40s music. Yet in my heart I'm still a child of darkness & I love the beauty I find there.

This is so wrong ratty79 because as far as I know people who consider themselves to be Goth can be from any religion or none at all. Certainly some of them will be Christians, others agnostic, athiest, Muslim or whatever but they are not Devil worshippers.
Goth is about a lifestyle choice, dress and appearance, hair, clothing, accessories and make-up. Mostly they dress in black and their accessories are often in silver or pewter. Also they often borrow styles from the Victorian or Elizabethan eras.
Please do not confuse a choice of attire with religious or other practices.

As far as I know someone who identifies as being a "goth" is not necessarily any particular religion, although some of them are Christian, while others could be agnostic, athiest, Muslim or any other religion. It is about how they dress, mainly black with unusual adornments and it has nothing at all to do with religion.

My ID says it all hun. I'm 55 years young and love my goth clothes, music and gothic stuff in general. No we DO NOT worship the Devil, these days we are more inclined to be professional people, usually in high paid jobs and more in tune with the modern world.
I happen to be a pagan, but then I have been pagan since childhood. I don't worship the Devil, to me he doesn't exist. I prefer to think of the Earth as my Mother.

No, goth people don't worship the devil. Sure some might, but some people wearing a suit and tie to work every day might as well. They don't bother me, to each their own! If they feel comfortable with piercings and wearing black or what not, then so be it! It doesn't hurt anyone else for them to do that. They can believe in a number of different things. Some people might just look better wearing all black. I don't judge them, they are just like everyone else.

Every person that I have ever known that was gothic didn't worship the Devil. I think more than anything it was their way of being themselves without restrictions of society. For some it was to shock, for others it was just a form of expression.
When I was in school, I dressed like a goth and I've always listened to gothic music. And even today I'm still a goth at heart. It's just something in me that's a little hard to explain. But I can tell you this. It has influenced my occupation in life (a genealogist) and alot of other characteristics about me. And none of them are even remotely related to the Devil. I believe in being me no matter what. And if that desire is to die my hair black and pierce my nose...well there you go. For me it's not the shock value, it's just expressing myself...being different...being me.

No. They don't worship the devil.
Some gothic folks like the human race as a whole some don't. I don't for an example, but that doesn't mean I hate every human being on the planet for no good reason.
Goths..mostly, seem to believe in balance. Whereas most folks seem to focus on the Light aspect of life and shun everything else, they focus on the darkness..seeking to find the beauty inside it, just like many people seek to find the beauty in light. Like any lifestyle or subculture it's hard to describe..how do you define an entire culture? You know?
But they're certainly not evil..or bad people. They're just like anyone else. Unique.

Goth is a style and a form of life. Most goths are not satanic and would not even think of most things at to with it. Goth is a form of style and form of expressing. To many people fear what they don't know or try and classify what they don't know with something they do and I don't like it. I fear many things but I do not fear people that look diffrent. I know goths that are very strong into many religions. Goth is many things but not a beliefe

Some of them do worship weird things and others don't. They believe in anything that's dark. I don't think they necessarily hate us or something like that, they just think of us as different from them.
