No it is not a girls job. Males too should learn how to do all of those things and I can proudly say that my son is capable of looking after himself because he was taught when he was young to cook, clean and wash.
When he started primary school (aged 5) he was responsible for putting his school uniform in the washing machine every day after school and his other dirty clothes in the laundry. A couple of years later I let him wash the clothes, i.e. turn on the washing machine and then hang out his school uniforms.
By the time he started secondary school (aged 12), he was responsible for not only washing his clothes but also ironing them as well. I might add that I had standards that he had to meet, as did his school, so every day he wore a clean and ironed uniform. During all this time, he was also encouraged to cook and although there were some 'disasters' we ate what he cooked, so now he is an excellent cook.
I believe that as parents we should encourage our children to become independant and teach them the necessities in life so they can look after themselves. Also think about it, one day they might marry and if their wife works, why should she have to do everything? No, teach them young, make it fun and everyone benefits from it. :)

It is necessary for boys to learn cooking and cleaning. Why should it be restricted to girls. Women have also entered into all fields. It will help guys someday when they know cooking and cleaning. I will definitely teach my son both

Nowadays girls or wife also working. So it is good if the husband can help up with cooking and housework. Since I'm a working lady, my husband will share a bit of housework with me. It is really sweet of him to do that, don't you think so? As for cooking, there is more for him to learn. He simply can't cook except instant mee.

Yes, it is. So girls don't have anything else to do with their lives. Save a girl, don't cook your meals!

It's not bad, I find it useful! It's ridicolous if you think that! I know some cooking...and I know how to clean house...but I don't feel stupid for this! It's a "plus" for boys, to know how to cook or to clean...and it's a "plus" for girls, to know how to fix cars or do any "male"-job!

Hello...it is not bad for boys to learn to cook & clean? why? because it is for all of us to learn it.. and of course, what if you're the only one who is living in your home so, what will happen if you dont know how to cook? so you will not eat? and your house will be so dirty... hehehe so BOYS should learn how to cook.
