I'd like to start off by saying that I movies have really influenced my life in a good way. So, I thought I'll put up a list of top my 10 movies spanning diffrent genres. Although these movies may not be the best movies ever made, they however made me think and entertained me. So, here it goes:
Forest Gump
Back to the Future
Crash
Before Sunset
Big Fish
Hoodwinked
Little Manhattan
Wedding Crashers
Freddy Got Fingered
Little Miss Sunshine
P.S. It was really hard to curb down the list to 10

HI consider movies as entertainment and not as signposts or guides for my life. I am from India, and more movies are made in different Indian languages than any where else in the world, but since this is a global audience, i'll limit myself to the movies that I found most entertaining and don't mind watch them again and again:
The Sound of Mucic
My Fair Lady
Gone with the Wind
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Where eagles dare
2001 the Space Odyessy
Rambo (all of them)
Sin City
Scarface
Roman Holiday (If i'd to add one more it'd be Titanic)

I hear there's a sequel to Sin City and even 2010 was great. I wonder how the Rama book series by Arthur C Clarke would look on film or television?

Looking back at fond childhood memories from movies...I tend to find that the quality of the entertainment doesn't match the fun value it apprently had when I was younger...most of the movies I liked as a kid bore me now

True, some of the old movies would seem to be cheesy now. However, they would certainly kindle some fond memories and help us discover the child within ourselves. Don't you think?

'Gaeshana' may be a good movie. But it is just the Telugu remake of 'Kaakha Kaakha'. Anyone who has seen Kaakha Kaakha wont dare to compare it.......Its a unique example of how interesting an old & much repeated storyline can be made into.

Well, I never said that movies SHOULD be a guide to life. I said good movies have inspired me (pls read my post again and in future, think twice before throwing away free advice). It is also quite evident that you are unaware and not watched movies which are capable of inspiring people and instilling human values.
