Have u noticed that mylot has restricted copying??

to some extent it will reduce cut copy work.if you are used to write of your own then you wont do cut,copy.further even posting of photo is also been restricted so as to avoid posting of copyrighted images.

If that restriction is not used, many new comers and recently joined people without knowing the rules or knowing the rules go on rampage of copying everything and anything. What is important is while copying a heading you have to give credit to the source. There are several copyrighted writings which requires permission to copy. To prevent any legal hazzle that mylot might face because of the members copying without permission, this rule has been made.

You JUST noticed this? Maybe you should check your alerts and stay updated on what's new with mylot! I am glad you are restricted. You were probably trying to cheat anyway! I definitely think this helps mylot. It helps stop the cheaters! Hopefully it will teach them early on to be HONEST and post some good stuff...

Yes, it helps them force people to use the site honestly early on, that way they will know if you are an honest user or just trying to cut and paste things to post as fast as you can.

I agree with Metallion. By the time users reach the 500 post mark, they should be familiar enough with the rules and guidelines, so as not to copy and paste other peoples discussion or replies, as well as things off the web that are copyrighted without giving proper credit. It helps users stay honest and not walk over other users in an effort to make money. MyLot is doing some great improvements with the site since I joined two months ago. Hang in there. You will love it. There are many good people here. Welcome to myLot in case no one has said it to you yet.

THIS WAS IN THE LATEST MESSAGE ALERT, IT IS AN ATTEMPT TO STOP COPPYING AND SPAMMING AND STUFF, IN THE long run it will be better for us all its just a pain for those who dont have 500 postings, so keep going and happy posting

i am almost about to reach 500 so it isnt bad for me at all. It will take you 6 or 7 days to do 500 points so cheer up.

yeah.. it only means that we need to ask permision to thosw who owns the article or the image.
