This is my First Christmas and New Year in the US. I just started to work in the US last August. I want to celebrate a memorable holidays with my wife, do you think going to New York would be a good idea to spend Christmas and New Year? I hope you can give me your advices.

It depends what interests your wife. If she likes beautiful sceneries in the countryside then New York is not the place to be, especially if you have no friends and relatives to stay with. Remember it's a big city, parking is difficult and expensive, and you would need a map or someone familiar to take you around. To me there's nothing really fantastic with New York.
