Holy Bible

"Thy Word is truth" (John 17:17). The Word of God is the Holy Bible. It declares an understanding of the purpose of mankind which is to attain the destiny planned by God for man. God wills all men to be saved and to come into a full knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). The Holy Bible is composed of the Old Testament consisting of 39 books and the New Testament consisting of 27 books or a total of 66 books. God used the Hebrew language for the Old Testament while He used the Greek language for the New Testament although some portions were written in Hebrew or Aramaic. In 270 B.C., the Old Testament was translated into Greek by 70 Israelite elders in Alexandria, Egypt, upon the direction of King Ptolemy, and the translation is popularly known as the Septuagint or LXX (Greek Old Testament). The Holy Bible was written by about 40 men from Mouses who started writing when he was 80 years old upon the command of God in about 1,417 B.C. and wrote the first five books of the Holy Bible from Genesis to Deuteronomy until the Apostle John who wrote the Book of Revelation in about A.D. 96. The completion of the Holy Bible took the span of about 1,500 years. These 40 men lived in different times in various places and yet the Holy Bible has no conflict as it was written by men who spoke from God being borne by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). No human being has ever explained how any thing and all things came into existence. Only the one whom we call GOD tells us the past from the beginning, the present, and the future up to the end. The Holy Bible was not at all disproved. It was not the Bible that was found wanting but the interpretation adopted by religious authorities. The Bible asserts its divine authority. It claims to be the very Word of God. It is a source that may be consulted in any situation in life; it has guidelines for triumph and adversity, joy and sorrow, prosperity and poverty, confidence and doubt, which not any one other book all possess. I was baptized into Christ on October 1, 1989 and I'm given the gift of knowledge and understanding Bible Greek (Koine) which became a dead language to preserve the Word of God as languages grow and progress as times go by. I have already published THE WILL New Testament (Greek to English), a translation of THE GREEK NEW TESTAMENT, Fourth Revised Edition, with the permission of the German Bible Society who owns the copyright. I have also published GENESIS & EXODUS (Greek to English) from the Septuagint. I am almost through with Leviticus which will be published soon, God willing. I have also published GREEK-ENGLISH (Grammar & Vocabulary), WORDS in THE WILL New Testament, ELEMENTS of SALVATION, The Right Way, GOD, ORIGIN, TRANSFER into PERFECTION, etc. (For further information, PLS see my Profile here in myLot and click my website there to go to Arsenia Joaquin in truth where the books, etc. are shown.) I translate the Word of God from Greek to English PLAINLY - Greek word translated into its English equivalent. Additional words for grammar purposes are written in italics to show that they are just additional which are mostly linking verbs. The Word of God is simple and understandable and really sweet. If there be any doubt arising from the insertions and injections of different ideas in the existing versions of the Holy Bible circulating around the world, PLS indicate the book, chapter, and verse, and let us study comparing from the Greek. I am a servant of God and I'd be glad to help people understand the Word of God and be saved from the lake of burning sulfur where the ungodly will be thrown in the last day. May God bless all of us. Very good and may I add how to read verse in the Holy Bible for those who do not know yet. Book, Chapter, Verse For example: Acts 2:38 Look for the Book of Acts (see Table of Contents if not familiar yet), find Chapter No. 2 written in big number and then the verse number written superscript (usually) before the first word of the verse, 38 in this case. I hope that people will learn and read the Holy Bible.

I applaud your faith. It's beautiful. However, all too often, people who have faith like yours condemn me to Hell, because I do not believe in such dogmatism. First of all, your forgetting about six books of the Bible--six were removed to place protestant kings who wanted a divorce. Although, I don't agree with Catholicism, they still maintain the 72 books. However, The Bible, even the protestant version, exists as it does, solely because Emperor Constantine, a disciple of Mithra the Sun God, recognized the power of Christianity as a political tool. There are well over 100 gospels... The others rejected at Constantine's council of Nicea. Much of the old testament, by the way, is stolen from much more ancient cultures than Christianity or Even Judaism. Faith in Christ, is a good way to go. But putting your faith in a book written by man, is synonynous to worshipping a false idol. Christ broke it all down to "Love." LOVE is the true name and Word of God. And even then, people have a hard time practicing what Christ taught.... "Love the Lord Thy God with all thy Heart, Mind, and Soul,... Love thy neighbor." and "Judge not lest ye be judged.", and "faith the size of a mustard seed" to "move a mountain." And that last bit about the ungodly being thrown into a lake of burning sulfur. My God, the God of Creation and Love, would never do this to anyone. This kind of belief is what turns people away from religion, Christianity, and sadly God. Hell, is here on worth when we fail to Love and to believe.

I believe in the Bible. But there are several things it doesn't explain....dinosaurs, mans evolution, animals evo;ution, etc. I wish the Bible did explain these things but it doesn't. And, yes, I've heard the argument that these are ruses of Satan. How can that be when there is proof they existed? Please explain.

Shadow Walker, you;'re full of chuckles! Yes it DOES explain dinosaurs and so forth - if you care to read between the lines. Genesis outlines the sequence of creation of things quite clearly - from the little fishies, to the things of the land, and all the forests, and then Man. I personally don't discount for a moment the possibility that Genesis is a LITERAL description of the way things happened. Nor do I discount the notion that Genesis is meant to be taken metaphorically, and all that happened over millions of years. The truth is, I don't know and I'll keep an open mind on the subject. It's quite amusing to witness the ongoing battle between the "Creationists" and the "Evolutionists" in American schools - a titan struggle between two opposing religions. Yes, two religions. The "Evolutionists" base their point of view on a set of dogmatic premises that they can no more "prove" than can the "Creationists". And in my view, the "Creationists" have the more plausible platform. But that's another story. To be honest, I'm really quite skeptical of ANY theory that humankind comes up with, no matter how pleasing it may sound. BUT Here's my ending point in this discourse - why should anyone care if the can't find the answer to everything in the Bible? The Bible presents sufficient information to serve it's purpose - it doesn't need to answer every question under the Sun, just the basic questions as to why we're here and what God's purpose for us might be. Which points to anohter aspect of this thread - the Bible isn't the ONLY source of Divine revelation available to humanity. The Catholic Church has ample information which has been carried down the centuries by word of mouth, from Jesus Himself. Whoops! Apologies to the "Bible Bashers" - I forgot that Jesus wasn't allowed to say ANYTHING to ANYONE unless it was first triple-stamped and copyrighted and approved for publication in the New Testament first... And further to that, there are plenty of holy people who have enjoyed private communication with Jesus and other Saints over the Centuries - but that becomes a matter of Faith for other people.

It does explain Dinosaurs. Back in the Bibles day, there was a layer of water above our atmosphere, that kept the deadly chemicals from the sun to stay out. And during that time, things lived for hundreds of years, and that meens reptiles as well. Reptiles never stop growing, and if you look and some of the lizards we have today, and the dinosaurs, they look very similiar. Man's and animal's evolution, isn't any, Genesis "God Created the Heavens and the Earth."

On this Christmas Eve day, I thank you for your sound and truthful testimony to God's true word - the Holy Bible. It is this same Bible where God reveals Himself to man, not only in creation, but also the entire plan of redemption of man through Jesus Christ. May God bless you for your faithfulness to Him and may you have much success as you move forward. Merry Christmas.

Glad to see you still publish constructive discussions. Most people on here just say anything in order to get more money. Sometime I would like to correspond with you by Messenger or email. I would like to discuss our beliefs and see if we both agree. Also, it is often productive to understand differences that people have. Hopefully it will help everyone. God bless and have a happy holiday.

Let me just say, in the nicest possible way - you eediot! In case you hadn't noticed, the Bible predates Christianity by some thousands of years. So you might consider dismounting your Catholic-phobic Shetland Pony and ponder these things more carefully. But sadly (sigh) you ARE correct in one respect. God IS The Word. The Bible and Holy Scriptures encapsulate the revealed Word of God in writing. BUT let's be clear here - as far as I know, God never signed a contract with anyone to limit his commentary to the Bible. Hence the term "Bible Bashers" - people who actually believe that they have the formula for the meaning of life, the universe and everything in their hands when they get hold of the Bible. Anyone who accepts that Jesus is God surely must also accept that anything that Jesus said to other people whilst here among us in the flesh is ALSO the Word of God. There's just some basic, elementary logic at work here, folks. Even the Good Book explicitly states that all the boks in all the libraries in the world would not be sufficient to record all the things that Jesus said and did whilst here on Earth. Maybe DVDs would change that now, but that's not the point. The point is that the Bible is irrefutably the revealed Word of God, but it's not the only source. There is also the Word revealed to us by Jesus Himself on Earth to other human beings, which has been passed on down the centuries in the manner of Tradition. God's Church is a LIVING Church, a Church that lives in His people. It doesn't exist only in one single Book, sacred as that Book may be.

Those are word inspired by the need to explain nature. Sort of like the science of the times. Wonderful campfire stories. Not something I want codified by civil law.

well, aside from the fact that all of your discussions usually get down to the point of you telling us to go to your homepage and thus promoting the "sale" of your books, and cafepress items like thongs and coffee cups, I think you got people talking about a worth while subject, God, so it's worth it I guess.

English: New American Standard Bible Zechariah 5 [Commentary] 1. Then I lifted up my eyes again and looked, and behold, there was a flying scroll. 2. And he said to me, "What do you see?" And I answered, "I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits and its width ten cubits." 3. Then he said to me, "This is the curse that is going forth over the face of the whole land; surely everyone who steals will be purged away according to the writing on one side, and everyone who swears will be purged away according to the writing on the other side. 4. "I will make it go forth," declares the LORD of hosts, "and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night within that house and consume it with its timber and stones." 5. Then the angel who was speaking with me went out and said to me, "Lift up now your eyes and see what this is going forth." 6. I said, "What is it?" And he said, "This is the ephah going forth." Again he said, "This is their appearance in all the land 7. (and behold, a lead cover was lifted up); and this is a woman sitting inside the ephah." 8. Then he said, "This is Wickedness!" And he threw her down into the middle of the ephah and cast the lead weight on its opening. 9. Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and there two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens. 10. I said to the angel who was speaking with me, "Where are they taking the ephah?" 11. Then he said to me, "To build a temple for her in the land of Shinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there on her own pedestal."

Oh, I since you are translating and all, could you tell me how to get out of the whale? I am going to the beach next week and I am freaking out a bit. Whenever I see a beached whale on the news, the insides are usually quite trim and the food seems well digested. I just want to know how Jonah did it so I can put my mind at ease. Thanks for all the hard work on behalf of the human race. What was going on in the Phil. before the Christians came for the natives? Is the heritage of the people a big lie or are a bit tweaked in the head?

I have read some comments here and they are just the result of not studing the Bible, the Bible are not for a religion, are not for a nation, the Bible are for all man, it can not be read just like the newspaper or magazine, you have to ask God to help you understand the Bible, you have to trow away all what you are or think and acept Jesus in you heart, so if you are expecting the Bible to explain evolution you will not find it because its a man idea, a theory.

When God created mankind, He instilled in us a high degree of intelligence, curiosity, and capacity for learning. God did not give a book that contains information which he could learn on his own. He gave man a mind with which he can acquire and develop an abundance of useful knowledge. What man needs is a book containing information that he could never discover alone - that is the Holy Bible. Thanks a lot and may God bless all of us. SEN

Ahh, You'll have to check out the thread that I'm starting... Where do we go from here? The Bible has many flaws, what should we think about? What is the Evolution of Religion? What is the next Progressive step... And for those who really want to follow along, what is Panentheism...
