How do you feel about travelling long distances by car?

I used to love to go on long car trips. It doesn't bother me to sit in the car for a long time. I could sleep or watch the scenerey. I enjoyed stopping at different places to see what was different from home. I can't travel much now because of health but I was just wondering if you have ever taken a long car trip and did you enjoy it?

I love travelling long distances by car. Twice, i went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina by car. By the way, i live in Montreal, Canada, so it was a pretty long drive up there. Of course, we stopped to sleep and eat, but i just loved it. You can see so many things that you'd miss out on if you were in a plane. And i am afraid of flying so..it was perfect for me!

I agree... I rather drive a thousand miles (not literally) rather than get on a plain

I had only went for one long car trip. I drove the car to neighbouring country. However, I was the only driver and was tired at the end of the journey. Nevertheless I enjoyed the drive and scenery stopping at various stops to shop and eat. If given the choice again, I would not choose to go on long car trip as its too tiring for me.

Driving can be very tiring. You really need to stop and stretch and refresh yourself. I agree with you on that point.

In September I took a trip to Michigan, about 850 miles, and I drove all the way. It was the trip from hell. I wrote a story about everything that happened to me on that trip. It was unbelievable. I got to see my son and 2 grandchildren but boy did I pay the price. I don't travel as well as I used to. The older I get the harder it is to do the things I used to love.

That seems to be my problem too, just that my body is aging prematurely and falling apart.

I took a thirty hour scenic driving trip from Minnesota to Toronto. We loved it and so did our cat. We ended up staying for a little longer than planned before making the same thirty hours back, but all in all it was amazingly fun.
