Give of yourself...make something or give them time of yourself to help them out in some way...I appreciate these things more than I do store-bought gifts.

Make a gift by hand or make your own Christmas card. These things will mean more to them than anything you could buy in a story. Besides, it's not the gift that counts it's the thought behind it that does. Merry Christmas.

Christmas presents - Christmas presents
It will of course depend on who the gift is for really and what special talents you have. It is rather late to be thinking about Christmas presents now but for future reference these are some ideas. "Gift Vouchers" are an ideal present but it will take up some of your own time and effort. If it is for a family with children, then give them a voucher for so many hours of babysitting during the year. You can also give "vouchers" for lawn mowing to people who have lawns and gardens; walking the dog for those who have pets; washing and ironing for those who are busy with work outside of home; housework or cooking a special meal. Bake a cake, make some jams or preserves, make sweets and lots of things like that. These types of gifts are always appreciated and it shows that you care and are prepared to spend your own time and effort. Similarly, knit a scarf, sew a shirt or blouse, do some embriodery. Take the children for an outing to the park and give them a picnic lunch you have prepared. The list is endless if, as I said, you are prepared to give something or yourself. These are the sorts of things that I used to do in the past when we didn't have any money to spare but I still wanted to give something to our special friends. :)
