Solar Energy or Electricity

then what the hell does solar energy generate instead of electricity

well if more and more solar power inventions comes up, then i would prefer solar energy, till then electricity

I choose solar energy which does not contribute to environment pollution but in my country, the usage is still very low due to the high initial cost.

here at my school they installed solar panels ! They work perfectly and produce enough enery for the whole building ! Solar energy is cleaner than any other energy source !

solar energy ofcourse..coz if there is no solar energy there is not the question of electriity existence but even whole life doesnt exist with solar energy....

There are pros and cons to both. Solar is cheaper and wiser as long as you have the power. Electricity is more expensive but more reliable. So if you can get the solar energy to be as reliable as the electricity then I would vote for solar. but for now I like the reliability of electricty.

solar energy is not electricity but it can produce heat or electricity. Of course it's the same thing...you can produce electricity in many ways, with solar panels but their output is not so high. I think it's better wind power than solar energy

Other than passive solar panels, where i come from there is little solar energy used. I would like to see that change. I think I would like my primary energy source to be solar.

I think solar energy is great, since there is a plentiful amount of the sun. Not to mention, I don't have to pay for sunshine!! With 2 teenage daughters, my electric bills keep going up, up, up!! :-)

i think solar enrgy is best but we can't live without electricity in most of the things we have to use such like too much power in which solar enrgy can not be used.

You must have confused the terms and I suggest you do some more research. Electricity is not a source of energy, it is just our means of transmitting energy efficiently from a source to just anywhere else. Solar energy on the other hand is an energy soruce just like wind, hydroelectric, geothermal and other alternative sources of energy. Even though they are clean and environment-friendly they do still produce electricity. Solar panels produce it through photovoltaic effect. A phenomenon where solar cells emit electrons when exposed to sunlight. So you see it is not a choice between solar energy and electricity. It is on how we source out the electricity that we use.

Solar is cleaner, greener and a reusable energy. I wish more things where run on solar energy, rather than nuclear power. Wind power and Hydro-Water power are also reusable clean resources.

I think when I own a home I will have solar panels for electricity and also a small wind turbine for electricity and solar hot water heating for the House. I might also throw in a sterling engine to produce power.

they both are needed but solar is more efficient for heating of house and water by heating water and storeing it in the ground in a giant tank till it is needed. People should also look at changing there lighting from incandesant buld to floesent or LED that are jsut comming on the market. More money should be spent on wind turbines and run of the river hydro plants that do not require dams. We are a planet that demands electricity no two ways about it.
