in today's world money is a virtual magnetic field which is influential in making people particularly young students drift their professional aim along the financial factors.after 10th exam 99% of students opting science feel they gonna earn huge money by becoming a technocrat,be it a medico or an engineer.not only this, chosing mba has many reasons for doing so that rests on the platform of money.
but these are not healthy sign for the country.engineers, medicos or mba together can't run any country.there has to be people in sufficient number from all walks of life.so,the theme of this discussion is should we inculcate something is the young minds so that they lay more stress on developing the nation rather than just fattening their pockets??

hi,
according to me,money, ahould also be taken in to account while choosing a profession.because, nowadays,in todays world,we cant do anything without money.but at the same time,we should also have the satisfaction in our profession.because, without satisfaction,we cant succeed in our family life.we should love our job.we should love to work.so,job satisfaction is also very important.

If you do not like the job you have you will not be motivated to excel and become better at that job. It may be fine for awhile, but you need to make a profession last for 30 maybe 40 years. At the same time you cannot afford to do a job you absolutely love for almost nothing. There has to be a balance between the two.

i think you should pick passion over the amount of money;
why would you want to be miserable just to make money

at the first, when i look for a job, the first thing is at least I've got a job despite the salary, after that if thing goes well with the job, i start to look for better offers or opportuinities that give more earnings

Sadly, one really has to put money at the top of priorities. However, if you can make enough to pay the bills and put a little away, then by all means go for something you enjoy.

Yeah i agree with you to a certain extent. C the scientist and the doctors never look at the money factor while on a task. so there are differant people in this world and the4y look at differant things ina differant manner. You cant say that money is the only think that people look at while choosing a job.
I have a friend who spent a lot of money on his studies is not doing a job which is of very less money but he says that he is looking for experiance rather then quick bucks!
So in life you need to understand that what you are learning than what you are earning!!!
Cheers,

many people even I also think that the main criteria in choosing a job is to see one's comfortability and interest in that job..to see what you can get and what you can deliver to that kind of job...
But there is always a factor attched to every kind of job and that is the money factor..I think it is also important while choosing a profession..

I think it is up to the person. If you are unhappy, and stressed, no amount of money can get rid of that. If you are willing to sacrifice your health, and happiness, money does matter to you a lot more than you think. It all comes down to people thinking money will make them happy. I have personally seen that it can, and can't.

money plays a crucial role in people choosing a particular career field even more than job satisfaction. parents are in many ways responsible for this, for example in a country like India parents often discourage their child from taking up a sport seriously as they feel it cant fetch them a live-li-hood..even the youngsters are becoming more materialistic and only money can satisfy that so they r putting money over everything else..yes we have to try and influence young minds that money is not everything. it all depends on new parents so that atleast the new generation benefits..

well i think money n ur interest both should b kept in mind while choosin a field coz if ur not interested in ur profession u ll never b satisfied though u become the richest person in d world in now a days there r many options there is a diff field 4 each interest n
d most imp thing is not 2 choose d best field/profession
but
"to excel in what ever u do!"
:)do u agree wid this thought?

hey since money has become a important factor in everybodys life many are planning to earn money rather than thinking of proffessions, example even if you want to treat your dependents you need money now according to me in india itself once the person is admitted to the hospital when he is discharged with the bill of approximate fifty from where will you bring so much money if there are four dependents on a person and unluckily all four get admitted in one year he has to pay nearly 2lakhs do you think many can pay such amount so many people prefer to earn money to make fie secure.

Yes, money happens to be the guiding motivation for a lot of us and there's no harm in pursuing that unless it creates conflict. conflict arises when someone takes or is pushed into taking a decision. it may eventually bring him tons of money but can take away mountains of satisfaction which won't allow him peace.
Thanks

A career choice in my opinion should not be based on how much money it is paying or offers. It should be something that we enjoy doing and other benefits from doing that job. I took a decrease in pay when changing jobs myself and it happens that I like my current job better than my previous job, even though I am making slightly less than what I was making then. I also find my job now more rewarding than the last couple jobs. Of course, now a days many people are more interested in the money as I think society as a whole has become more greedy than ever.

There is not a single profession in this world which donot
pays " The best performers in that profession",if some one is Average
in his/her profession even a technocrat or a MBA even a politician he will earn no big money in this competitive
professional world, Performance is the only criteria in
whatever profession someone choose.

In deciding upon a profession, you must now take a new look at the professions and
reconsider what professional activity really implies. It constitutes your service and your
contribution to the welfare and progress of the entire society in which you are living.
Professional life is self-giving, is giving of oneself for the service of and benefit and
happiness of all beings. Its income bringing aspect is secondary and not primary. This must be clearly understood. It must be subordinated to the basic ideals of self-giving and service. Otherwise man is not a man. He is but a beast in human form, a wolf in sheep's clothing.
As long as you have a body, you have to work hard for your livelihood. You have to
struggle hard to provide yourself with the necessities of physical existence-food, clothing, shelter, medical aid. But your efforts to earn your livelihood should not be immoral, unethical or unrighteous. Right conduct should be the basis of your professional or business activities. Ply a trade, do a business, be a farmer, be a doctor, it will not come in the way of your attaining supreme success in life provided you ever adhere to right conduct.
Similarly, your social life should not become mere frivolity, dissipation, extravagant
entertainment and a waste of time, energy and money in meaningless status keeping. Social life has to be constructive, creative, ennobled by fellow-feeling, compassion and the spirit of sharing. It must be gainful in terms of increased happiness, welfare and benefit to all beings amidst whom Providence has placed you.
Be helpful to your brothers and sisters. Desire to serve your own neighbour. Desire to
serve the society, nation, all creatures, even plants and insects. Desire to be serviceful to all. And do not forget that great being who gives us life itself-our Mother Earth. Without pure water and clear air, thick forests and fertile pastures, life on Earth cannot continue in a healthy manner. Already so many species have become extinct due to greed and selfishness. This will be our fate also unless great effort is put forth to turn the tides. Let your time be spent in these worthwhile pursui
