It's important to sing both alone and with others around because it can really open your eyes to the world of music and really show you how much potential you really do have. Many power songs can be written in the show when no one's around but there's the problem..... no one's around!!!

I used to sing in the choir at church. Now I love singing from the back pew! LOL So, I guess christian and praise music is what I like the best. I also used to sing opera years ago. That was fun because it was difficult to do and it's fun to do something that is difficult.

If you're shy but want to sing, a good way for you to not feel self-conscious and to build your confidence would be to sing in a big amateur choir. You'd be able to sing your socks off without worrying about standing out, your singing voice would improve no end (they teach you proper breathing and singing techniques which make all the difference) and before long, you'll be able to sing anywhere, anytime you feel like it. It's a really great way to express yourself, and is very good for you too!

I sing with a church choir. We have 27 to 40 people singing together. I am not shy then. I will also sing unconsciously if I hear a song I know playing. I only get shy if someone mentions it.

If you can hum, you can sing. I sing as the mood takes me, make up lyrics to songs. I'm a musician, among other things, so I'm quite at home in rock, folk, and jazz, and I like a lot of classical music. Try singing along with Beethoven, make up your own song... it really is fun
To get confidence and stamina, you need to practice. Try singing something you really like, and I promise you if you keep at it you will gain confidence.

I can sing and I sing all the time, just in my own company lol. I have some serious stage fright, unfortunately, and I'm kind of anti-karaeoke, so that's out. Songs that I usually sing are ones that are usually within my range, but I feel I do better with old jazz-type stuff, from Ella Fitzegerald to more modern Norah Jones, etc. Depends on my mood too, I guess.

I love to sing. Singing brings me great joy. I am also shy about singing in front of people. But, I sing when nobody seems to notice. I will sing at the grocery store. When people notice, I smile and stop singing. Sometimes they will tell me to go on and let me know that I have a lovely voice. If it makes you feel good, sing.

I will sing any song anywhere I can not be heard. I sing off key and I know it. Unfortunately, so does everybody else. (I lip synch in church) I once worked in an office where the boss's wife was tune deaf and when nobody else was around we would sing together. It was a lot of fun for both of us since we sounded pretty good to us.

I like to sing, but I don't think I have a good voice... Some people say I have, but I don't believe them! I'm very shy too! I never sing in public! Not even with my family! I took guitar lessons for some time, and the teacher asked me to sing cause I won't be able to play the guitar well if I don't sing! So only after some hours I gave up and sang but only for a couple of minutes, with the TV on and the volume up... so that no one else then her could hear me... I know, I know, it sounds crazy and stupid, but I'm very shy! What can I do?
