I was going in a train one day, when i met a man who seemed to be very talkative and learned. He saw a picture of a model dressed scarcely and said.." In the middle of an extremely sunny and hot day, if you happen to pass by an icecream shop wouldn't you desire to have one...; if that be the case then why dont these women understand that the rapes which are increasing these days are only because of them losing their dressing sense and not peole losing civic sense" he added that "It is extremely nature to have such desires when you are craving for them..." I was in complete agreement to whatever he said... what do you have to say to this?

I think Sayin the way the women dress causes more rape is seein only one side of the coin!!
I guess it's more due to the lack of strong law and order system in our country!!
Most of the people who commit the crime get away because they have influncial connections or most of the women dont report the crime due to the fear of the society!!
The same is not the case of a country like USA where i guess women hardly wear anything but still the number of women raped is quite less than that in india because of a strong law and judicial system!

strange... you compare buying ice cream and raping. if i want an icre cream, should i force the store owner to give me one? and if the owner refuses, it will be his fault that i harm him? because buying and taking things by force is different. yes its instinct to crave, but what makes us different to other animals is our ability to think. to know our limitation, to know what to do and not to. the old man's logic is one sided.

in the deep of the man's heart, there are many desire just like animal, but the most difference the man is not a animal is that man can use your head to think. so, the girls are seductive, but that's not the reason for raping. if girls all dress a lot, does that make the world no rape? I dont think so. so, try to restrain yourself from any animal disire, this is the point.

I think the dressing sense has certainly come down among some women and so has the civic sense at the same time. What started as a technique to improve the marketability of products has paved way for acceptance of such dressing sense and a false notion that its in vogue

I completely disagree with you. Its every individual's right to dress the way he or she wants to. Whether she wants to expose or cover, no one has a right to object or justify his immortal acts because of that. You can desire to have the icecream. Thats ok, but you can have it only if you buy it and have it. If u steal it its criminal. That says it.

I don't entirely agree with you. First thing, she's a model and her profession has a good say in the way she dresses up. For those who do it purposely, it's their choice and we aren't complaining. :)
See, if you're not deprived of your part of skin then you would give a glance but not feel deprived of it and can keep your calm.

I think it is very stuipid arguement you are putting forth. I think sayuing we have natural tendencies, i say yeah we all have testrones, male hormones and we naturally get excited on seeing a beautiful lady but it doesn't mean that we have act on our desires, otherwiase there will be complete anarchy and lawlessness. Going by your arguement we should kill people if we don't like them because we hate them and our natural instinct is to get mad at them or harm them. i think in developing countries like in my country india, rapes are happening because people think they can get away with it. And it sadly true to some extent as police are ineffective, insensitive, and courts take their own time and there are too many loopholes to be exploited by high and mighty. So convictions rarely take place. And girl's ( victims) families are also too keen as the society blames the girl saying she has loose character instead of targeting accused. but now with youths movements, media and judcial activism hopes are there that finally things will get better in india.

I think men should have self-control about this issue regarding the dresses women wore. But if women would be more modest in the way we dress then maybe rape can be prevented. But i think the law should be enforced.

OK desire is natural and power to get hold of your basic instinct is civic sense.
When you appreciate the one, you get to learn the second one as well.
It is a more social issue than anything else and need social awareness.

man is basilly an animal and the animal instinct in him is kept reigned by his civic sense. woman is his greatest tmptation. There have been legends where great sages with great mental control melted down before a naked woman. Samson and delilah is one such example. So when a women goes almost naked in front of men the animal in him does get tempted and wants to find a satisfaction. He was correct when he said rapes have increased because of this.I have found that small children are not safe in their school also.

Yeah I also agree to you but partially..Yeah it is true can the revealing dressing of woman or rather what they say is today's fashion is one of the factor causing rape..but you have to blame those who did this, they must have strong patience and need to control their feelings..
But also when someone do this sort of act and get away from the law ,then the law and order have to be blamed equally.

This is a pretty horrible analogy. It doesn't even make any sense. If it's a hot day and you see an ice cream store, and your cravings and DESIRES for an ice cream overcome you, you will go into the ice cream store and buy some ice cream, which the ice cream man will be more than happy to sell. You don't jump on the ice cream cart and eat all the ice cream like a savage, destroying the store and going against the ice cream man's wishes.
People who say rape victims had it coming are only trying to excuse their own poor judgment and inability to keep it in their pants. It's inhuman.

People are so ignorant of the most ancient of principles and of human nature. Judging from most of the comments here, I would guess that most people are rather liberal in their views of sexuality, without acknowledging that we are products of our thoughts. Too funny.
