Do cheaters REALLY think they won't get caught?

I'm asking this because you really do have to wonder about the intelligence of some of them.
For example, i've had people who've quoted my own topic back to me! Those who have copied a previous response, some even end up on the same page as the original! And than there are those who post something completely irrelevant. O yes, and some responses just make you go 'huh?'....o, and i'm also counthing the
'yes'
'no'
'that's an interesting topic'
'i don't know'
in this too.
Do these people really think we won't notice?!
A warning to anyone who even THINKS about cheating on my posts, i'll report you to mylot straight away AND give you a negative rating, i'm sick of the cheating and i'm not putting up with it anymore.

I can say for a fact that the intelligence level of those who've posted in my discusions is very low. They either type total rubbish or the first four keys that was in their mind at the time and the best one simply put a fullstop. No really, I thought it was nothing until when I submitted the complaint it was just a ".". I complained and negatively rated them but there still there. Oh well, go get em emisle! way behind you apparently (your cheaters are alot smarter).

the best part is at times cheaters never get caught but ordinary people like us who may once out of the blues try to cheat and the result we are caught...I think its all a matter of luck.

If nothing else, this provides an additional opportunity for some recreation on myLot - hunting down cheaters! It's really very easy to do once you realise that someone is doing it, because the serial offenders seem to be completely compulsive in their behaviour.
So if you see someone who, for example, just inserts nonsense posts as resposnes, or just copies a segment of a previous post and reposts it as his own, then a quick visit to that member's profile will yield a wealth of cheat-posts, all from that member's list of "discussions i've answered", and you can merrily step through each of them one by one and report each one to myLot.
Takes time, but it's fun and very rewarding!

there is alwayes an element of fear in heart of cheater in real life, but i don't think it exists in mylot
mylot is trying hard to reach towards spammers, and we need to help them,
we are like their workers who get paid every month for this.
so they want this service from us.

Oh, they will get caught, no doubt! I report them myself whenever I see that someone is cheating. I am sick and tired of seeing people trying to make an easy buck.

I have encountered all these tricks on far too many occassions and have reported them as well.
I have often thought the same as you suggest, do these people really think that nobody will notice?
The early users of Mylot had the habit of giving 1 or 2 word answers, then when that was outlawed by Mylot the copy and paste trick became more popular. I have even had people copy and paste a response from a totally different discussion. Since mylot have issued warnings about this practice and not only refuse to pay for them but will ban a repeat offender, then I see no possible benefits for a cheater.

Amen to that!!! I am sick of cheaters too and I do report them and give them a negative rating. Not only that in my reporting I specifically request that myLot delete their account on grounds of breaking the TOS. If these folks don't have anything worthwhile, or their own opinions/words to put into a discussion, why respond to it. It is pitiful. It really makes my blood boil to read these responses. I even report them when I see them in someone elses discussion. Sorry this has happened to you emisle. I really hope it gets better soon. Cheaters will be eliminated!!!

Oh such a great topic here!!! And yes I have to agree with you - it's just disgusting what people will do - whether they are just too freakin lazy or have no brain or whatever - but in the end I do hope that it's the good ones here that get rewarded while the bad apples just fall off the freakin tree!!!!

You go Emisle!!!!! I am sick of cheater also. I do think myLot is trying to stop cheating with the refusing the copy and paste feature for some users. I think that is great. But they will always find a way and that is why people need to report. I report those I find also and then follow it up with a negative.
And then I sometimes come across the responses that make zero amount of sense. I am left wondering if it due to lack of English skills or just another cheat. Then, I will go look at the user's profile to see how they respond to other discussions. At that point, I can usually report a lot of responses to get the point across to myLot that they are habitual cheaters.
I think more people need to report. But I think that they may fear a retaliation. Which I can understand. But myLot does not tell who reported and as long as you do not tell that user you reported, there should be no fear. Well, that is just my opinion as to why people do not report.
Or maybe some do not read the responses to the discussions they post. I read them all even if I do not comment. :) And I WILL report all those that abuse in my discussions too. I do not care if I loose a couple points because I feel that person should not get any credit for posting to my discussion.
OK...I digress. Thanks for letting me vent. :)

I get fearful of leaving too many comments on my discussions because when I first join myLot I had read in the guidelines that we are not supposed to thank every person that responds to a discussion. Even though I am not thanking the person...I like to comment to ask a question or to let the person know I read their response and enjoyed it.
But like I said, I get scared as to knowing what is too much commenting to responders. LOL Maybe myLot can clarify that rule. Then I wouldn't be so fearful of making comments in my discussions.
But hey, thanks for commenting to me! It does let me know that you read my response. :)

Hi emisle....you are right in your accusations and also guilty of starting the same discussion as previous ones!!
Okay, your responses are different as different people post in at different times, and those who have previously posted their comments about this shrug their shoulders and sigh!
I haven't been around all that long but have personally seen this topic listed several times within the time here....
Please don't think of this as abusive as I'm curious as to what you think about the previous discussions on this topic??
Do you classify yourself as one of those "cheaters"?
But then I suppose as has been mentioned, the previous discussions on this topic were probably missed by you...buried in the irrelevant ones!
Oh well, have a good day anyway!

I know people have posted posts similar to this, but i just wanted people to know that i'm not putting up with any of the things listed, in my posts anymore!
I know there are many posts which are the exact same on here, but i just don't respond to them if i've responded to previous ones. If a post is not tagged adequately it can be very hard to know if it's already there when you preform a search.
And i hope you have a good day too..:)

Its not bad. I believe in any given situation in your life. You have atleast two choices. One seems "easy" and the other seems "hard". 90% of the time the hard one is the right one and the easy one is the wrong one. There are some people who tend to go for the easy one unaware of the consiquences later in life its going to cause. cheers

People who cheat are usually so accustomed to lying that they believe that what they are doing is justified. Not only do they believe what they are doing is not wrong, but many are also silly enough to believe they won't get caught!
And this rationale applies to cheaters in any discipline. It works the same for people who cheat in relationships, cheat on their taxes, cheat in games, etc.
What do you do to report cheaters?

i agreee with you on this.i have had people who copied my entire discussion verbatim to me and i had reorted them to mylot.i think that such people who do that must be mentally deficient.whats more i certainly do not like one liners.just wish that mylot would develop a policy by which they would remove all one liners.that would be great!

They must think that they will get away with it often enough that it will be worth their while. Otherwise, why gamble. With this many community members, chances are good either way. I have noticed that often the cheating comments or the copy/paste comments are buried in discussions that have lots of responses, probably on the hopes they will not get noticed. Like Jimbo, I have seen the Paraguay
Street thing twice, once last night. I have reported it twice so far. Let us all be diligent in reporting abuses.

I think that they know that they will get cought but they act like this: If they cheat 1000 times only one time they will be caught. So by this way they can cheat for along time, earn a lot of money and sometime they will loose some money but thy wont worry for these because they would have earned so much without doing anytithing. I think that this is the way that they think.
