Where do you get a subject from?

This is a genuine question I'm not able to find an answer to.
I am observing so many discussions here on mylot and I wonder where do you guys get the topics from? All the discussions are not necessarily from the list of your interests and still they get a large number of responses.
I could start a discussion but after that it's hard to find a topic, so I made this a topic itself :) This will help me find more topics!
Any tips for a new comer like me to start better discussions which would interest more and more people?
Thanks!

Most of my discussions come from life experiences. Sometimes when I post a response to a discussion I am reminded of a happening in another time of my life and I will use that for my next discussion.

It's very hard to come up with a topic.. I newer create topics.. There're plenty of topics to respond to :-)

I am also very thinking person. Before I joined mylot I used to feel how can I share all this to huge group of persons.Butnow I am sharing all my thoughts here.Sometimes I feel I don't get responses when I write a very thoughtful topic but I was satisfied when one of my topic got 182 responses. Some people here I think are not writing their experiences but just to get responses. But I think better to write my own thoughts than to write lies.

Very well!
I think that is what mylot is for, speak yourself. I know many people just create topics and never look back to them. Anyways, I am not worried about getting responses to my discussions. I will post a discussion only when I find a topic :) that is what worried me when I started this discussion.
Thanks.

I'm a very questioning person so I think of things throughout the day and post them when i get to the computer. Sometimes i have nothing i want to discuss and at other times i have lots i need advice on.

I think a lot too. I guess I'll learn how to convert the thoughts and put it into words to create new topics. Although it will be difficult to do so through busy week days, I guess I found another 'to do list' task for weekends :)
