Is saying thank you to everyone who responded to your discussion bad?

thats great, some think that its manners to say thank you to everyone, but what more could you achieve doing that to everyone when u feel sometimes like condemning or hating the responses u get...or simply the ones which u don't like, in any case, i think its not the thank you that makes the manners, but responding in some or the other way...

If you check the does and dont's section you will find that your are not to say it to everyone unless you have further comment to make.

I think that saying thank you seemsa waste of time, as you'd earn others more by replying to interesting combacks, and rating and choosing a best response shows youre watching your discussion. Have a nice day!

ive been doing that.. will i get penalized on that? in every reply to the discussion i make i always say thank you.. i havent read in the mylot rules that it is prohibited on saying thank you

It's better to give some comments on the response that you receive. If you appreciate the response, why not provide a good comment also. They've given a well thought of response why not give them also a good comment. Of course, you should not always say thank you to everybody.

I only say thank you if I have further comments to say and if the person's post deserves a comment, I hate wading through long discussions filled with "thank yous" or copy and paste reply to all posters, people don't expect a thank you and let's face it most will never return to see if you commented or not. So don't waste your time and try to comment on good posts only.

It is not bad to say thank you to the people who replied to your topic but you will not get paid for doing so as it is included in the myLot guidelines. I am sure everyone appreciates the time you took to thank them. It is very poiite and nice to thank people.

I always say thank you to my Responses so I think it is ok as I think it is only polite

Well for me I think it is a good thing. I always thank my responders for their comments.

I emailed mylot admin about this and they responded to me by saying: Simply thanking everyone who repsponds to your discussions does not increase your pay and it could get your posts deleted or even worse your account canceled. It is okay to respond if you have something to add to the comment but not just to simply thank the person for responding. This is the answer I got straight from mylot admin. I know there are many people who do thank everyone but I for one am going to follow what mylot admin tells because I do not want my account canceled. I hope this helps.

i think it is OK to say thanks to people...

I dont think saying thank you for all the posts one receiveas is really prohibited in mylot. It can just be some sort of manners, but mainly i do it to keep my disscussion in the front page for longer times so that many will answer to the disscussion.

I try to respond to everyone who makes a legitimate comment. If they answer with only one word I might not reply - buit otherwise I try to say something that might be constructive. Good luck!

let's face it.. for each of the messages that one posts on myLot, they have to pay the person if it makes sense, and to pay someone for just having said 'thanks' is probably not really that affordable.. that's similar to how people respond with just a 'yes' or 'no i don't know' kind of message to discussions .. that could be a reason for their doing so, though that's never stopped me from thanking anyone if i want to.. :-)
