I personally have found that as I make more friends, I am getting more responses. I was having a similar situation, I thought my discussions were good, but the dumb discussions got lots of responses. It has gotten better this week as more people have gotten to know me. I try to respond to at least one friend discussion of each friend daily to encourage my friends. I do not do each one, because sometimes I do not know anything about the topic. From what I see my friends do the same. Another type of topic that gets lots of response is the controversial or hateful kind, but I try to stay out of those because they just make me feel bad or mad. Things will get better. Concentrate on respoonding to lots of people and a variety of topics. You will get more well known, and will get more responses yourself.

Yes, I agree with GardenGerty. Whenever someone wants to be added as a friend I try to respond to some of their discussions because it's the right thing to do. Of course, not every discussion they post will be answered by me especially if I could'nt relate to it. It's a give and take relationship, when they respond to mine, I respond to them.
It's really frustrating that others have tons of discussions and never even bother to comment.

The reason is that your posts may actually require some thought an effort on the part of people to respond. This is a community that is supposed to be here for the sake of discussion. The more that I look throughout for quality discussions to join, the more I realize that the majority is here only for the money. Until we have a large group that is willing to stop responding to nonsense discussions and to report the abuse that is happening, we will not be able to have good quality discussions that may actually add to someone's well-being.
We need to report abusers and give negative ratings to everyone who is working the system simply for monetary gain. And I call on myLot's administrators to start checking on the members who are over 5000 posts and are simply breaking all of the rules that are so clearly posted in the alerts.

Some posts take longer that others to reply back too, because of so many out there. But, I can assure you that all posts get answered in time, even months later. Your number by your name is the posts that you answered. You are doing a fine job, give it a little time to catch on dear. It will. If you are happy with me, would you please press the + next to the topic across from me? Thank you, and good luck. You will get responses.

I appreciate your + ratings very much. I like to post and respond. And I like to reply to others, and see if they responded. That is really what MyLot is about. Having discussions and having fun. The $$ is just a bonus for it. Like frosting on a cake. I had noticed that you didn't have many responses, and I knew if I started it, that others would follow suit. And I see that is what happened. I am so happy for you. You were a little down about it before. Don't worry, you will get lots more now. Have a happy evening.

I think it also depends on the day and the people signed in when you have your discussions posted. I found some days I will have TONS of hits...and another day I won't have any!!! Doesn't matter what the topic of discussion is.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention also...TAGS...they are important because the few people that do respond might have done so from it popping up in their intrests, while commenting another discussion similiar to yours, or searching topics for a good discussion!

That's so true! Just in the last couple of weeks since I joined, we've grown from 42,000 members to over 50,000 members! There are just too many topics to see them all!

well, i think that it is all about the perceptions of different people. Different people will obvoiusly have different views about any topic. you may think that your discussions are meanigful and helpful however others might not. you can see that your this discussion is in the hot lists of discussions now. did you ever think that you will get so many responses for this discussion?? I would suggest that you must try to start discussions regarding curent affairs, topics which can be discussed upon globally and has lot of points to discuss upon and also discussions related to daily affairs.....

thanks you for bringing up this topic and i've given it a + rating. i too have been experiencing the same situation. thats why sometimes i just post dumb discussions so as to collect more responses. but i get the same results. its so discouraging to make an effort to come up with good discussions only to find out that it won't do any good result. i sometimes think that not everyone can be able to see my posts. that probably the posts are divided in different groups, that perhaps those users in my group are not so active compared to others. i know its a strange thought. but its because i likewise get strange results in here.

well,my friend do not lose heart.I have resonded to you grudge.I think that a major chunk of users here still have not understood what exactly is this forum.I am very clear that it is discussion and debate rather than earning money.A lot has been said and told about earning money but you cannot earn loads of money in this when the rules are not clear. So forget about who is responding you and who is not.Learn, participate and let luck do the rest.If you think about money then u are going to crib as you will tend to reply and rply and rply but with no qualiy.I hope i have done justive to ur discussion.

I think the reason a lot of the most stupid topics get the most replies is because unfortunately there is a fair number of stupid people on here! They are basically just here to make a few cents and don't really care what rubbish they post in the process. If you look at some of the most stupid topics they usually only get one or two word responses.

I personaly try to respond to every discussion.Sorry to hear your not getting much responses .Im sure your discussions are a benefit to the MyLot community and if you feel thats how you will continue your discussions then I think you should go with what you believe in but if you want to change your topics to maybe recieve more sponses that might be something for you to think about.Good luck
