I am a writer. Are you looking to write the story yourself or are you looking for a ghostwriter to write your story. If you are writing it yourself, the best way to start is to do just that...start writing. You may find it helpful to do an outline of chapters and fill it in with details before you begin. I too have been working on my life story, while writing other projects in the meantime. It is rough doing your own story and being brutally honest. You really can't contact a publisher or agent until you have finished it, because if they are interested in the partial you send, they will request the whole novel be sent. If I can answer any other questions, please let me know. I also know of several wonderful websites, if you are interested. Happy New Year!

Have you ever heard of the snowflake method? http://www.rsingermanson.com/html/the_snowflake.html
I use it sometimes to help map out my novels. See what you think and let me know.
