I'm not sure how old your kids are, but my two boys are 3 & 4 and our Pug is great with them. We put a lot of effort into making sure the boys now how to treat a dog, but Pugsley is very tollerant with them as well.

I would love to have a pug. But my sister is allergic to dogs that shed. So we had to get a hypoallergenic dog, a Yorkshire Terrier and we love the silly dog.

How much do puppies cost usually? How can you go about adopting one and being sure it is not from a puppy mill? Thanks!

it really depends where you buy them and when! females are more expensive than male puppies... puppies range from $300 to $2000... it really depends! what kind did you want to get?

I have a pug. It was a long and hard campaign to get him, but my husband finally relented and agreed we could get one. I did a lot of research on different dog breeds and a pug seemed to fit our lifestyle the best. We have kids and our pug is AMAZING when it comes to them. My son can get rambunctious at times and he'll pull our pugs tail. Our pug has NEVER bitten or snapped at our kids. He IS one of our kids. I highly recommend them to anyone but I would advise that you get one from a breeder and not a pet store.
Pugs tend to be babies in the sense that they are very much lap dogs and love a lot of attention. If you don't want a "needy" dog, this one isn't for you. They sure have a lot of personality though. They're little goofballs. I'm starting a new campaign to get pug #2.

I love pugs. I had a pug when I lived at home with my parents. When she passed away, at 14, my parents swore they wouldn't get another dog. When, don't you know, 3 months later a woman who was an acquaintance of my dad comes to him because she knew of a pug that was being mistreated and the owners wanted to get rid of her. Of course, my parents adopted her in a second. I truly believe that dogs find people, not the other way around.
