Did you see any movies, at home or theater, over the holidays?

We bought about 4 movies on demand over the holidays. I enjoyed watching them with the kids. I'm dying to see CARS and want to order that one next, but the kids wanted some scary stuff. So we did that. They're watching Step Up now, on DVD. Did you see anything over the holidays?

Hi! Yes, for once, I actually saw a new movie over the holidays. My hubby got me The Devil Wears Prada. I've been reading the book and couldn't wait to see the movie. I missed a bit of the ending, but at least with owning the movie I can go back and watch it again whenever I want! I really liked it.

So far, I'm a little over half way through it. I'm nowhere near the Paris thing, etc. I can see where they've changed quite a lot, such as Andy living with her boyfriend in the movie when she lived with roommates and her best friend in the book. I suspect the ending of the book is very different, too. In the movie she was sort of on good terms with Miranda, but I doubt the book ended that way. I think Meryl Streep was brilliant in any case. She's the main reason I couldn't wait to see the movie.

Oh, to answer your question, I like the book. I think it explains a lot more about Andy than the movie did. The movie didn't really show how grueling the job was as well as the book described it. It's an interesting read. :-)

Yes we did see some movies this year at home. We never go to the theatre anymore since it is so expensive! $7.50 usd per adult and $5.50 usd per child! We purchased/received Cars, Little Mermaid, Barnyard, Polly Pocket, and Mickey Saves Santa. We have watched all of them except Polly Pocket so far.

going out to the theater has definitely become an expense most families only enjoy once in a blue moon because of the high costs!

We saw Break Up too... it was so good and really quite nicely done. I also appreciated that for once it wasn't a fairytale ending where we go back and fall in love... it truly was about the break up!

I wanted to see Bench Warmers too and Talledega Nights. I loved 50 first dates. Clerks 2 my kid saw and said it really stunk. Dodgeball I watched about 20 minutes and went... OMG cannot take anymore! lol Christmas with the Kranks is hilarious and Elf is a real favorite at Christmas too. We even watch that one year round!
My oldest just saw Nacho Libre and said it was so dumb. That's odd too because it would have to be really bad for us not to like Jack Black.

i had watched 3 movies (in marathon) with my mom and 2 younger brothers on VCD from 9pm (december 24) until around 2am(december 25). we've seen swordfish, windtalkers and Xmen (which we've seen already years ago). it was nice to sit down and relax with the family. share a movie even if you've seen them together in the past. but still, it's fun.

I did not go to the movies over the holidays but have watched several movies on dvd the last couple of weeks including "Superman Returns", "American Pie - The Naked Mile" and "Invincible". I liked Superman Returns and Invincible but the American Pie movie was not that good. I received a gift card to the movies so I will make sure I see a couple movies.

Yes, CARS, is a must see. It is hilarious and a wonderful family film. We watched Pirates of the Carabian 2 and Miami Vice. I didn't really care for either one. We also watched "Secondhand Lion", with Haley Joel Osmet, Michael Caine, and Robert Duval. It is a fantastic movie if you have never seen it. It will really tug at your heart strings and make you laugh all at once.

We watched A Christmas Story and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and I watch the anime film Spirited Away, which was great (and which I had borrowed from my family a year ago and was finally getting around to seeing before I returned it to them).

Ooh, I've heard that Cars is pretty good! ^_^ I went out to see the movie "Eragon" last week:

I'm a big sci-fi and fantasy fan, and I love dragons, so I thought that it would be a pretty amazing film. The trailers made it look wonderous. But it was just 'pretty good', I would say. The storyline was kind of predictable. I still enjoyed it quite a bit, though, and was moved at certain points. Besides, there haven't been many 'dragon' movies lately, and it pleased me just to get to see a story about a dragonrider, because I love that sort of thing so much.
BTW, I can't wait for the newest Harry Potter movie this summer! Those are _excellent_. ^_^

We watched Nanny McPhee. We then wanted to watch The Corpse Bride, but half way through the dvd, it stopped playing as it was damaged. We then fell back on our old favourite Miracle on 34th Street. We watch this one every Christmas.
