My husband picks on me about this and I wanted to see what other people do in this sistuation. I work 9:30 to 5:30 and I get up at 7:00 am evey morning. Because I like to get up, get my shower and have a cup of coffee, watch the news and check my email. I then leave here at 9 am and he thinks I am nuts that I could sleep in till 8:30 and hop in the shower and go to work. I guess it must just take me a bit longer to get going or I just like my "me" time before I head off to work. So what kind of person are you? Just get up and go?? or wake up early and take your time before you have to leave for work.

I always prefer to have some me time before leaving for somewhere. It usually doesn't work out that way though lol. I usually end up sleeping till an hour to an hour and a half before I need to be there. I don't wake up very easily or well for that matter.

There is nothing wrong in getting early and late in the morning. It all depends upon the mind set of the person and he/she should plan the day and make the day a successful one which are golden pages in a book called life which can never be wrote again.

I'm an early riser and up at 5 every morning doing chores (except when I was pregnant and too tired) while my husband is the get up and go person. But he doesn't pick on me...because he gets everything done when he is up and it's easy for him to just shower, eat and rush out the door. I usually do some chore, cook for the whole day and read the paper before I leave (which is earlier than my husband). Most of the time my husband is just getting up when I am almost on my way out and I drop my son at the bus stop before I leave for work.
But now I am a stay at home and I still get up early to finish my chores so that I get the rest of the day to do what I like for myself.

My God ! what a nice topic for discussion. One thing is not very clear in this discussion as to whther u are aginst the early wake up or u are frustrated with your hub's comments.
madam, we all are living in this universe to do the mechanical way of living that is waking/eating/working/earning/spending/enjoying the results of these action both happiness/sorrows. . this is a machanical life. the main motive in this computer world is to earn earn earn earn . there is no limitations for this . just to earn we even skip our food/many other activities. SO ONE THING IS CLEAR ALL THESE WORST SITUATIONS ARE DUE TO THE DESIRE TO EARN .
further the desire to earn does not have any limiting factor. so be cool madam and try not to put such a trivial problems for public discussions , because these are not at a problem just an understanding that's all. if u just try u can solve this situation very easily within your own home and be happy . sorry for advicing . pls excuse me

I'm a get up and go type of person. I like my 'me' time at night and i always make sure i have everything i need for the next day ready before i go to sleep at night.
The last thing i do before i get into bed is make a checklist of everything i need or have to do for the next day.
Since my workplace is walking distance from where i live, I usually wake up about 45mins to half an hour before i have to be at work.

By choice I'm a stay in bed until the last possible minute type of person. Unfortunately my kids have pretty much broken me of the habit - mainly because they are much the same way so now I have to get up early enough to get them up in time so they can just get up and go :-)
I am now trying to find some me time though - I get up and get organised and then in between yelling at them to get in the shower, get dressed, eat breakfast and get to school I try to sit and quietly have my morning cuppa and check my email :-)

I'm with your husband on this. i get up like an hour before having to be at work and sometimes less than that. depends on how long i worked and how late i went to sleep. you just prefer taking your time in the morning which makes sense however i'm a waitress and i work mostly nights so i get home late go to sleep real late and get up even later. like between 1 and 3 pm most of the time. once a week i work til 10 pm and have to work at 11am the next day which is hard but i'm getting used to it.

get up and go is the best solution. If you say "Just 5 minutes" you may lose 1 hour and be late to school or job...but....whet "get up and go" my eyes are "damaged" by the stupid light....so i get up early and i play a game on my mobile to make some resistance to light...then i wake up....nice huh..? :D
