What do you give your children for an after school snack? Is it junk or healthy?

Definitely healthy foods...carrots, apples, cheese, peanut butter/banana, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc.

I usually try to give them something healthy. Today we had granola bars and bananas. Yesterday it was yogurt.

My grandson raids the refrigerator and gets what he wants for a snack.

I like to give the kids anything healthy especially fruit, but kids will be kids, they always want chocolate...

I would do something warm for winter months, like half a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. Or make mini bagel pizzas. They have mini bagels in the bakery or bread aisles, and you can make your own pizza.

That sounds good. We may have to try that.

It depends on a lot of things. I try to do healthy foods but I also have to keep snacks small b/c dinner is no later than 6 in our house since the kids have to be in bed by 8

Yeah I understand that. Mine go to bed at 8 also and if they eat a late snack they dont want to eat supper.

My boys get their own snacks after school (they are teens lol). They usually have yogurt, popcorn, 100 calorie packs, or peanuts for their snacks. Occasionally, if we have chips in the house, they may choose that to eat instead for their snack. I don't have chips that often in my house unless I get the veggie chips. My youngest loves those chips.

It has to be healthy. Mine like apples, bananas, carrots, kiwi, oranges...stuff like that.

I usually give my kids popcorn after school - we started this habit when my sister lived with me and together we had 7 kids in the house. Right before the kids got home, we popped a big batch of popcorn and prepared a baggy full of popcorn for each child - and that is what my children expect when they get home!
