I know water is good for you, but I have a very hard time drinking it. So, I started drinking flavored sparkling water. I LOVE the peach and can usually drink at least 66 oz. in one day. I was recently told the body does not utilize this type water the same as regular water and I would probably retain fluids from drinking it. So, now I am trying to drink regular bottled water, but I can only drink about 33 oz of regular water a day. How much do you drink a day?

Water consists about 60% of your entire body weight and not drinking it regularly slows down your metabolism.
now just in case you don't know what metabolism is (or have a wrong idea about what it is). Metabolism is the rate at whihc your burn fat while rests......SO not drinking water will not make you any thinner. (same is the case with food)

Usually for an average human 6-7 glasses of water daily should be more than enough. As you mentioned you have a very hard time drinking it...try drinking something else like Milk maybe (DO NOT use COKE or Pepsi as a subsitute)
Basically you need to drink fluids it doesn't necessarily have to be water.
Hope this Helped...

I dunno about how many ounces, but I usually drink between 2 and 4 glasses a day. I like water, I have Brita filters and lots of ice so its usually one of my favorite drinks.

There are studies that have come to light saying that you don't need to drink 8 glasses of water like previously thought. If you are ingesting a lot of fluid, even soda or coffee, your body will still benefit. And even if you have a bad hydration day, your body will pull the water it needs from the food you eat.
This isn't a reason to drink espresso all day and eat cookies, but it does alleviate my guilt when I drink little or no water.

As i heard, a normal person should intake 8 litres of water to keep his body clean and for free circulation of good blood around your body.

I drink around 64 to 70 oz. of water a day. You might try squeezing a slice of lemon in it. I really liked it that way, especially when I first started trying to drink a lot of water. I was like you, I just didn't want to drink very much water, but now I love water. I always put ice in it.

Water is really good with a slice of lemon or lime in it...just enough flavor without anything artificial. I think people cancel out a lot of the benefits of water by drinking stuff that isn't really good for them.

Just an extra thought: I find that I don't drink nearly as much water if I drink it from a bottle. Maybe I am swallowing more air that way, I don't know. I try to keep a glass of ice water setting on my desk or by my chair or wherever I happen to be working. It is much easier to drink a lot of water in sips than it is to try to just drink down an 8 oz. glass of water in one big gulp.

Be careful drinking flavored water because it has a lot of sugar and chemicals in it and may not be good for you in such quanities. You could gain weight and be bloated from it. Drink non-flavored mineral or non-mineral bottled water instead. The reason you need water is to flush out the toxins and other chemicals in your body each day, not add more into it!

Great point. A lot of waters say there are no calories with the fruit flavors, but they are adding artificial sugar which is even worse than real sugar. You should drink plain water or a good alternative is Glaceau, which adds flavor but no sweeteners.

Whenever you drink a beverage with caffene you need to increase your water intake. Caffiene actually dehydrates you.

I drink ZERO water a day unless you count the water in soda and coffee! I am horrible about it. My boyfriend on the other hand drinks at LEAST a gallon a day. I really need to get back into drinking it. I just hate the taste of it and I need it to be ice cold in order for me to drink it...

I am trying to drink at least eight glasses in a day but i find it hard to do it. Sometimes i drink juices or flavored drinks to achieve the minimum amount of water to intake everyday.

I drink about two litres of natural and clean water daily. We all want clean and pure water. But drinking water should not be too pure. If it is made / processed artificially for higher purity, it looses many vital salts and rare chemicals those in micrograms even very essential for everybody. Thanks.

I don't drink as much water as I should - you should drink 8-10 8 ounce glasses of water per day. I cannot drink plain tap water. If it doesn't have flavor I cannot choke it down. I have found that I love the WalMart brand of Crystal Light though. It has Zero calories - unlike Crystal Light that has 5 calories per serving. I usually try to drink at least 34 ounces of this water per day.

Growing up I couldn't stand water. My first choice of beverage was ALWAYS soda. As I got older I began drinking more and more water. When I am at work I can finish 4 bottles of Poland Spring. When I am at home however I tend to drink ice tea.
WMG....I too love the new flavored water! The best is strawberry

I drink a lot of water. Drinking water helps to keep the skin looking fresh and revived. It almost makes you feel better. If you have ever noticed that if you drink a lot of soda or carbonated drinks through out the day and you dont drink any water you feel bad, or dragging slighly. Your body works better when you drink water, keeps you hydrated. I probably drink about 5 8oz glasses of water a day. They only recommend 8 glasses of water a day. Too much water can be harmful however.
