Dear fellow members,
How many of you here use the 'preview' option before submitting a discussion or response or message or anything in mylot?
As I came through hundreds of topics today, I noticed lot of typo errors and spell/grammatical mistakes in almost 40% of the contributions here!
Why cant we give quality and error free posts here, just by pressing the preview icon before submitting any post?
Give your opininons about this so that all can avoid the typo/spell errors in mylot.
Wish you all a very happy new year 2007!!!

Everybody here keeps an eye on the length of the response they make!
Its good to use the preview tool anyhow.

I always use the preview option, so I can make sure I said what I wanted to say, and it is not only worded right, but also spelled right, so I don't look like I can't spell...

Apart from the spell check, if you read the matter what you typed, then you'll definitely get some more points to add, which will reflect in the increased length of response!

Yes, I do use the preview option, and even with the post response option, it is possible to go back and correct typos. Its probably that when I rush and don't proof read my post that it contains spelling or grammatical errors. Since I read as I type, I don't look at the keys, I look at my writing, I proof as I go.

honestly i seldom use the preview button...our connection here is very slow... sometimes i get cutted off from connection and erases all data i typer so i have to retype it again....this is also the reason why even if i do have so may ideas in my head i tend to loose it because of this distraction regarding connection problems...and im also a slow typist.

Hope the solution for your problem of 'typed data erase', will be the one if you reach 500 posts here.
Whenever you reach 500 posts then you'll be able to copy and paste text while submitting discussions so that you can copy the matter what you typed and paste next time, if the net connection is down.
Thanks for the respoase!

Yes, always. I'm a writer and reread everything anyway, this just makes it a bit easier.
Some of the usage is really peer group usage, text message and slang, so I'd whittle that 40% down to about 25%.
Bearing in mind that "opininons" isn't a word, either, and obviously wasn't intentional, particularly in this context.

Good and great Wanderlaugh, you're the right person who got the point here!
In order to know the proper respondent here, I put the gimmicks 'opininons' instead of 'opinions'.
So lot of responses I got before in which no one talked whether I'm using spell check or not.
Even lengthy responses I got here but those contributors also missed out this loop....oops!
So, in this case my view about the mylot users is that, no one ready to undergo/read what the topic/response is.
All simply want to express something about the topic!
Am i right dears?
Please let me know whether you agree this point!!

i do use the preview button once in a while when i give long serious opinions. most of the time though i don't use it because i proofread my work before pushing the post button.

Even though you proofread, there comes some negligible errors know?
So if you press the 'preview' then you can view the entire content without scrolling!!

Well, a lot of times, it can be when someone does not catch the Errors, which for me tends to happen from time to time, and then we also need to remember, we have people on here who contribute from all over the World, so for some, English might be a second Language so it is harder for them to really express what they want to say in here. And not everyone has a Spell checker or Good Spelling either. I take them with a Grain of salt usually unless they are just down right hard to read.

People who belong to such countries, mentioned by Krausehome can use the MS word's feature of 'spell check' and 'Thesarus' too.
Ofcourse they can improve/learn more about the English language by using so.
My view here, is to make mylot users contribute valid/good responses, as well as without spell/grammer errors in their contribution.
I myself uses the MS word option of correcting my grammatical mistakes before submitting to mylot.

To err is human. But repeated errors are inhuman. If anybody does mistakes unknowingly, it's forgettable, but if that's done knowingly, it's unpardonable. Mylot discontinued the cutting and pasting process which some of us did after typing the subject in MS word editor. There's no way we can help this out unless mylot has a spell check before submission of postings. In future we hope this novel idea becomes a reality. Happy new year to you too.

I have noticed a lot of people purposely spelling words wrong; or maybe I should say using short cuts. I think that is WRONG! I hate to read where people say U r nts, etc. It just seem so...wrong!
I don't mind shortening a word now and then; like'puter instead of computer.I just hate the other!I love preview. I think what we need is SPELL CHECK! If it was here more people might actually use it. Most are to lazy. I do not mean that in a derogatory way; I mean we are in such a hurry we get lazy in our spelling, writing and grammar.
Another thing I do is when I use preview is I write down my key words from that. It is the finished product, especially if you did a spell check.
I have my own spell check; but before I would preview, and if something looked wrong I would go to my email, type the word or words and run spell check there! It works very well.

Nice way of improving spell Marshell.
People who need just fun here are the fellows who make use of 'puter, LOL, and many such words.
They planned to act lazy but they need good money in their pockets.
How is it possible?
I want to tell here the saying, "No gain without pain", to guide the short cut fellows here!
