Have you tried the Mentos and Diet Coke trick yet?

I have seen the videos of the Mentos and Diet Coke trick ! havent tried it yet ! Will it work ? the video was cool. Isnt that dangerous ? I mean drinking coke and having a mentos by accident

I think you should be careful about giving people the idea that this might be an ok thing to try. This really isn't good for your body and believe me your health is one of your most valuable assets. Most people don't appreciate that until they loose their health. Why would you subject your body to this trauma? Seems pretty ridiculous to me. I've recently had some health problems and thank God everyday for what I have. When I wake up feeling healthy... it's just the greatest feeling in the world. When I wake up in the night and feel something's not right with me I remember taking my health for granted even just a few months ago. Live smarter than the average man/woman! Don't destroy your body for some stupid trick.

I have not done that but I do really enjoy watching MythBusters they are quite a team, right on the opposite ends of the scale. It makes for great entertainment, but remember we're experts so don't try this at home.

Working in the maintenance field, my co-workers and I are always discussing the show. We decided it would a cool inexpensive myth to play with. So we all brought in some 2 liter bottles of Diet Coke and Mentos. At break, we went out back and had some fun with it. One guy tried to get the cap on the bottle when the mentos were poured in. Now that was funny!

Hmm this is my first time hearing of this. I will for sure have to try it when I get the chance. My brother will totally go for it. Thanks

If you just want the coke to shoot out of the bottle then just shake the bottle a lot before opening it or just add some salt and lemon in it. I really dont know what you are trying to tell but, I use these 2 methods so that the coke shoot out of the bottle.

this sounds neat. I will have to try this with my kids. Did they ever say on why it does this? obviously there is some kind of reaction, but do you recall what kind?

I haven't tried the experiment yet. I would like to try to incorporate it into my son's homeschool curriculumn as a experiment of sorts for science. my kids will get a kick out of seeing this!!
