Have you got noisy neighbours?

I have. We live on the 4th floor, and they on the 3rd. Sometimes I am not hearing even the tv. It is terribble. However once (oh no sorry twice:) we drenched their flat, because it was pipe-braking in our flat. It was RAINING in their flat hahahhaha. I had to say sorry, but I did not-so much. After it for a few weeks they were in calm. But nowadays they began again the parties. SO I have to find out something. ;)

I used to live out in the country where I had no neighbours and we never heard a sound. As we are getting on in years we decided last year to move into a semi-detached house in the village so that we could be close to the shops. Now we have to listen to our neighbours children charging around on bare floorboards until the early hours of the morning. They slam doors and presses and play music so lound that I have to turn up the volume on my tv so that I can hear it. On Christmas eve, Santa must have given them a drum machine, They played it all night into the earlu hours of Christmas morning. Now it seems, we shall have to uproot ourselves again and look for a detatched house, and this is going to cost us more money. A pity I can't add sound to this response, and you could listen to my neighbours right this minute as they continue to slam their doors.

It would be funny if all of us gave a little sound from the neighbours. I am sorry, and I rate your comment too.

I moved here on december 2005, and decided not to move anywhere in my life... I wanted a real home not only a flat to live in. ANd I promised to my God, if She help me to get a bigger flat, I will not ask more. And she helped :)

Well, who doesn't? The old lady who lives above (7th floor) seems to have a workshop or something and is always boring holes or dragging something, not to mention that at least twice a year, water leaks from her bathroom to mine, on the walls (it's like I'm waiting for the rainy season or something)... The couple living at the 5th floor has a kid that just realized that if she cries she gets things solved. Therefore, that kid cries about 6-7 times a day...

yeah, we have this neighbor who owns a karaoke... they are really annoying.. we tried to settle the situation by asking them to make some curfew.. sometimes they do but sometimes not.. we may report it to the authority.

Here in the Brazil also they exist this type of neighbors. But they are much more barulhentos! I think that they love making parties until the 4:00AM. They bother to all the other neighbors of my street.

LOL... that is why in choosing a place to stay, we should check the neighbors. Although, I believe when you get to know your neighbors and bond with them, there is a way to let them know you don't like them noisy all the time. HAve a great day

it is not easy to check the neighbours. Anyway, I moved to this house, because I could not wait for a better possibility. In fact It was the only possibility during half year.

when we moved to this flat it was december. My son was 5 1/2 year old. And he always sang the gingle bells at the toilet terribly loud, and terribly badly. he did not even know the words, because he did not speak english at all. He did it for about 4 weeks. every day.

I had a neighbor above me once who walked around like he had lead shoes on. One morning I became so irritatied, (it was 5am) and I was pregnant and all ready having trouble sleeping, I took a broom and hit the ceiling like I was walking on it. He got the idea after that and never walked with his lead feet again. I wouldn't wish on him that his apartment was flooded, that's a little cruel.

I live in an apartment and naturally I hear noises all the time because we're just divided by a thin slab of concrete wall. I have grown oblivious to the noise after all these years. Morever, kids are always screaming from the pool below while enjoying themselves and I don't mind happy noises. Incidentally, I live on the 4th floor too but my neighbour on the 3rd level always complain that my kids make too much noise running around the house. There's not much I can do because I hear stamping noise from the 5th floor all the time too and I attribute it to the building defects. My kids are young and I cannot deprive them from what kids do. I just make sure they don't jump in the bedrooms and keep them in bed by 10pm.

I hear my neighbors, im in the corner on the building so we hear everything, and its not that big of a deal because everyone is almost all the same age. And then there is a popular bar, across the street. i always hear then till 1am when they close. And we also live upstairs from a noisy greek resturant.

YES, and its very annoying.. i always hear them shouting wen they call on their children, maybe they came from a squatter area where everybody else has to shout to be heard or maybe from the forest where people are vey far frm each other, its very annoying really esp if you wana rest. i also dont like them bec you hear a lot of cursing, even little childern do! and their children fights back rudely at the elders when scolded... not a very nice place for a growing child. i fear my chld would get that bad influence from the children around. right now we cannot move out yet, its costly in our place to acquire new house and lot. maybe in the future..

We live in a flat that has no sound proofing whatsover. The neighbour above us has a child that constantly runs around, jumping, banging etc, the noise is horrendous at times, especially in the evening. We are only separated by floorboards. We have contacted the local authorities as they are council tenants, but they say there is nothing they can do because it isn't going on at unreasonable hours, although, they admit it is very noisy. We have spoken to the neighbour and she is aware of the problem since she has sat in our flat while her child ran around upstairs! We have offered to get her room soundproofed, but she won't agree, we can't force her.

Yeah. My neighborhood sucks. And I can't do anything with the noise pollution we have here in the neighborhood. If only I could have enough money, I would definitely move out this freaky neighborhood.
