I just started playing Nightfall Guild Wars last night. It is an unbelievable game. I like how it is so similiar to Diablo 2 which is my favorite computer game. I'm finding it pretty hard though. Anybody else play? What level are you? any tips on how to play an elementalist. I always love to hear new things about games.

Haha, nice, I play, and I've been playing for a while now. I'm not too fond of playing as an elementalist, but I know a few good tips. Fire based elementalists are used to hit really high, they hit the highest in the entire game. Air based elementalists are used to inflict the condition Blindness which is really good to stay away from a fair bit of damage. Water based elementalists are used to slow the opponent like mad. This is really good for a quick get away. Earth based elementalists are used to enhance your armor and resistance towards opponents. I would suggest that you only choose one of these and master it.

Ok here's the deal with elementalists. Pretty early on you're going to want to specialise in one type of magic. This isn't because it is easier but you're going to want to get the high level weapons which reuire a certain thing. Next on the list is recruiting the proper heroes. When playing an elementalist you want to get as many bodies in between you and the enemies pointy things as possible. I suggest using Koss and Melonni for this early on and more or less for th whole game. For monks switch Dunkoro to protection as opposed to healing because he is a lousy healer. Make melonni a secondary monk healer and use the healer hench until you get Thalkora. She will be switched from prot to heal. When it comes to skills AOE (area of effect) is your friend. If this is the first elementalist you've ever played I suggest using fire magic because it is more simple and requires less thought, also fire storm is one of the most over used AOE spells in the game. Finally for a secondary profession don't pick anything that requires a different weapon to use certain skills. This rules out warrior ranger paragon and dervish. I only say this because then you will have to sacrifice your ele weapon and that may be disastorous. Remember the idea is to stay away from the enemy. So what you want to do is abuse energy storage attribute and pick one of the other magic classes, Mesmer, monk or even necromancer. The high energy will allow you to cast these spells alot more often than the promaries of those professions. Early on in Nightfall you will be begging to gain levels but stick with it because it will get better I promise!

An ele is one of the easiest classes to play since if you want to find groups they always want an ele. If you are a fire ele and you may not have all the skills yet but you will get them. But these are some of my fav fire spells Fire Attunement Rodgort's Invocation Meteor Shower Liquid Flame Fire storm is awful just don't use it. Definitely put points in Energy Storage since all of you spells average around 10+ energy. If you go E/mesmer you can take other forms of energy management as well or E/monk so you can help heal with your heroes. Mending is a monk skill just don't use it. It is really bad unless you are 55ing.

I have all three of the Guild Wars installments. I only have two level 20 characters though. A Ranger/Ele and a Dervish/Monk. Then I have a few characters that I use to store items. I really should get around to making other level 20 characters though. The person that posted before me had the right idea about what skills to use for an elementalist. As you get higher in the levels you'll also learn how to capture "cap" elite skills that you can use. They have a few really good ones for energy usage.

I have all three campaigns and no doubt it is one of the best online games. Playing as elementalist, i would suggest to get enhancements and fire skills.
