I've seen it and made me more aware of HIV, how his colleagues treated and discriminated him because of his conditions. Also how the family and his friends took care of him and loved him despite of everything..

Philadephia was an amazing film. It is one that always makes me cry. It transcends the gay/HIV/AIDS borders and truely touches people. You can sympathesize with it no matter what. He is sick and dying and the people he loves spend as much time with him as possible while he fights for what is right.

I loved the movie "Philadelphia" too, the song "Streets of Philadelphia" by Bruce Springsteen was also touching. There was an older film about the issue (gays/HIV) named "Long time companion" I saw a long time ago and it was touching and I think it was the first to give sympathetic view of the problem and made me aware of it.

I wonder how many awards Tom Hanks and the rest got from this movie!;) It really is an eye-opener for all of us, not only to accept gays but also discrimination of people who have HIV/AIDS.
