I have a few people who have asked to be my friend on myLot who are from India, the Philipines & America. I am wondering what makes these people ask to be my friend. I am not objecting by any stretch of the imagination, but I wonder why they want to be friends with me. I just had one who had 5 other friends (I became number 6). He only joined up 1 week ago, and it got me thinking - why do you ask to be a friend with someone? Most of my friends are from emailcash in Australia, so that is how I got most of them.

I have a similar situation to you. I always look at their profile and try and work out why they chose me. Most of the time they have responded to some of my conversations or are friends with my friends. Mostly I say yes. Have a great new year Bel.

not really its better chances of getting responses to your discussions to help get your earnings,if you have 0 responses to a discussions as soon as someone answers to that discussion you earn a point

I think that sometimes people want to build up their friend base and this is why they ask lots of people to be their friend. Of course, they will be hoping that you will respond to their discussions. It might also be that they have checked your profile BELMCstar and like your discussions of course. Once I used to accept all friends requests then after a while found that I responded to their discussions but they never responded to mine. At that point I send most of them a personal message and if they didn't respond in a certain amount of time, I deleted them from my list. I now check the profile out of someone who wants to be my friend and if I like their discussions I will accept them, so suggest that some of these people might have done the same for you.

I accept most request's to be my friend. I try to go to my friends discussion's and post on their's. I would assume most friend's do that also. If not then I don't see what the point of having friend's is.

I hve some of my friends listed to tell me when they have started new discussion, and not for others. It just depends on the friend.

I have "rules" that I follow concerning my friends list. First of all, I have to either know you on here or know you outside of here. That means people such as yourself Bel are real friends that happen to be in here. Others such as Falzy (you gotta read her discusions - there a great read) are people whome I read and reply too often. and they return the favour. Basically If I find someones posts interesting them I will checkout there profile, then there other threads. If I find I like the person then I will invite them to be friends. I expect the same in revers before theyh accept. I dont accept friendships from people who I havent communicated with either. I want to know someone before I establish a friendship.

I think that is the whole reasoning behind mylot..to get people to get to know each other by responding to each others posts, it helps to develope a friendly relationship with others all over the world. Kind of a you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours kind of deal, and in the meantime make some friends.

There could be several reasons as to why they chose to be your friend. I guess most them make a friend request if they like your discussions. I have also seen people who have more than 1000 friends. Now obviously such people are sending friend requests to everyone they see here. The reason for that may be that they expect most of them to respond to their discussions and help them earn more money here. But personally, I don't expect my friends to respond to my discussions. If they do respond then that's good but I have no problems even if they don't. There are a lot of boys/men who try to be friends with girls/women who have good looking photos on their profile. But I tend to be very choosy about sending friend requests that's why I only have about 50 friends. Having a lot of friends doesn't matter to me but having good friends does.

It feels good if you see someone wants to be your friend, just add them, you have everything to gain and nothing to lose for accepting them. They want to be your friend because they might have seen something good in you.

I think it's a way of getting know some people on here. Just responding to discussions doesn't seem to do that.

its just nice to look at your profile that you have a lot of friends from other country, even if you still dont meet in person or you dont even know each other, i dont think there is a problem with that, just keep on accepting friends request, you will not lose anything but gain a lot of friends on the net.

Because you like their discussions, in order to send them private messages, to get email alerts every time that your friend posts a new discussion so you can see what they are talking about. To be popular. To join with like minded people on my lot.

It could be that your such a popular person as you start up good discussions and people can answer them quite "freely". Keep up the good work and I for one like your discussions.

Because probably they want to establish a good mylot relationship with you. Say for example, the topics you usually write about interests them and they want to be able to find your posts easily since they have added you as a friend. doesnt necessarily mean that they have to know you personally, right? some just want to be "friends" with you on my lot since they feel like you are an advantage to their mylot experience.

I always accept those who add me as a friend :0) I think it's because they also wanted to have many people on their friends lists because it might add up to the money they earn :0) Im not sure if that counts though haha! :b Anyone want to add me ill always say yes! :D

I ask some people to be my friend when I found out that we have the same interest or when their discussion is of my interest. Plus, it is easier for me to check about their next discussions too

I started yesterday and had 3 friend requests.I thought that was so random, but it was from me answering on of my posts. If they are not going to mutually post with me and it is one sided I won't keep them.I am very real and I expect people to be eal with me.
