Having my own business is the thing I want to do and is planning right now. Having worked for a company for more than 10 yrs I then realized that salaried people are limited on what the employer can do for them no matter how much efforts you invested.
Having your own business is something you will do for yourself and benefit from it too.The good part of it is that it’s your own business, you’re doing it for you; not for the person who signs your paycheck.

Me and my husband put up an internet cafe 3 years ago and it is still doing ok. Earnings from this helped us during the times when we were unemployed. It helped us pay the bills and other expenses.
Aside from the financial aspect, it made us discover ourselves more. We discovered that we can be our own bosses and that we are capable of running a business and not limit ourselves from being just the employees.

I am starting an on-line business and not yet as established as you are. Still finding my place here but it's true that it's much better to work on your own and take all possibilities and opportunities than be locked in 9-5 jobs and let other opportunities passed you by

I agree. I'd rather get rich by my own business than by working for someone else. Besides, the average small business owner is personally comped 192,000 a year, so to merely be above average is still to be far better than the average business owner.

I guess that I run my own business, lol even though New York state says that I don't need to be classifed as one. I guess it is better to say that I am self employeed. I work at a freelance writer. I only do so at night though, even though it is usually full-time at night. I do it that way because I am also a stay at home mom. That is one of the many reasons why I love working for myself. It gives me the freedom to spend as much time as I want with my daughter. Of course, there are an unlimited number of other beneifts to starting your own business or at least working from home.

You could not have said it better Kelly! You are your best boss. For the last 20 years, I never had a boss, coz I have my own business. Never had to worry about arriving late for work, nor working late at night, coz again I am my boss! And never had to plead for my salary specially my bonus and 13th month, because I pay myself, whenever, wherever I want! He, he, he. Nice? You bet!
So I'm glad that you are venturing into that new world of self employment. I am encouraging you to really find out about yourself and manage your own business. That is the way the Japanese created their really big economy. Many are entrepreneurs on their own right, and their government supports them to succeed!

I agree with you. I notice that the most financially successful people are those that are in business for themselves. It is not always easy but the rewards are great. You can always leave your business to your children or family members, but you cannot do the same with a job.

I would love to have my own business as I would be making myself rich rather than making my employer wealthy. Plus I would be in control of the business decisions. Hope I can do this before long.

I liked you to have the idea, quite true if we co-operated the person our pay was restricted but not everyone could be as lucky as you but also the number of risks that must be borne when we established efforts personally, therefore needed mental preparations for that

Having a business of your own is really great. I have not been employed for almost 8 years because I am currently engaged in our family business. If your employed, you have your own boss, a lot of pressures you encounter, and your earning is limited. Managing a business is not that easy also. You really have to take the risk if you wanna succeed. It takes a lot of effort and dedication in order to succeed.
