Just wanted to let you guys know, I visited with this child and his Mother. They both explained to me that he was swinging the puppy around holding him under his front arms, like you would go round and round with another child. He got dizzy and he and the puppy hit the wall. He showed much remorse and was crying when he told me about it. His Grandmother lives next door and he was heading out his door, crying and holding the puppy to go there when his Mother drove up. Now this is making more sense. It was definitely an accident. I watched him with this puppy and he has learned his lesson. He was very very gentle with it. The Mother had told the Grandmother that she was going to the Store and he would be there with the Puppy. ALL IS WELL!!!

oh I am sooo glad to hear this, I am still sorry this has happened to the puppy. I still think this could have been prevented. Limits should have been set from the begining but I am so very happy that it was a true accident, and mostly the child feels remorse.

Where was the mother (or any guardian) when this happened? How could they have allowed this child to commit such an act? No parent would swing their kid around like that, why would they allow the child to do that to a puppy. Apparently this child is not old enough, or responsible enough to be around any animals. I hope they take the puppy away form him and he gets punished severely for his actions.

You need to read the whold thread to understand. The Mother had gone to the store. It wasn't like a parent swinging a child, it was like 2 kids holding hands going around in circles. I disagree, he has learned the hard way that a puppy has to be handled gently.
