I've just noticed something that has ticked me off and shown what I believe to be disrespectful to the original poster of a topic. well I was just finished responding to a topic related to computers and I scrolled down to see related topics, I found a topic with the name 23 Ways to Speed up XP originally posted by macubx copied and pasted by faique, I accidentally gave it a minus rating as I was going to report the post. But what I would recommend doing if anyone comes across any copy pasted topics from another user, is first of all, don't reply to the duplicate discussion, this only adds to the duplicate owners earnings, then either report or give the dupe a minus rating. I just don't think it's fair for everyone in the community, as all of us are contributing one way or another, but showing respect by not copying and pasting. this does not show any creativity at all.

I've only been with Mylot for a very short time .. and to date have only made 184 posts .. but incredibly 4 of my posts (well those that I know about) .. have been copied by scurrilous cheaters ... what's worse is they post the copies of my posts in the same flippin' topics ... are they crazy ... PAH!! All 4 have been reported to MyLot ... and I will continue to report any copies of my posts and any copies of posts I come across ..

Well done for reporting them Patootie, I've done the same with about 3 so far. Perhaps this shows the intelligence level of some of the users of this site, hope I never sink to such low levels. Happy posting.

That is disrespectful and lacks a lot of creativity. Is there not a way that Mylot can track this type of behavior on it's own? Is there a way that users can block their discussions from being copied and pasted?

by reporting to mylot we can help them to take action against mylot.but i want to know how we can differentiate the duplicate one from the original.because we cant say which has been copied from which.

It doesnt add to them if mylot deletes it and it costs you the time and effort and rating. Dont respond and report then go on with your business and dont waste time thanks for caring

With any luck this won't happen half as much now that mylot has brought in the copy and paste rule. Unfortunately it won't kill it completely because a lot of the people who do it are also the ones who make up ridiculous inane topics to get their ratings up. So they will have a rating over 500 and be able to c+p. But it will deter the ones that don't have 500 because you can almost guarantee that if they are so slack as to copy another users topic, then they definitely won't bother retyping it all! lol Oh well...just have report them - there isn't much else we can do... =(
