The fastest animal in the sea is the sailfish. Find out more about it.
The sailfish is related to the swordfish and the marlin and is found in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. It is a deep blue color with black spots, and grows to an average length of six feet (but can be as long as 10). It is estimated that the sailfish is the fastest animal in the sea. During speed trials in Florida, one sailfish took out about 300 feet of line in three seconds, which is the equivalent of swimming at 68 miles per hour.

Fastest marine dwellers is sailfish topping out a 68.18 mph.
They are blue to gray in color and have a characteristic sail (dorsal fin) on top, often stretching the entire length of the back.
Generally, sailfish do not grow to more than 10 feet in length and rarely weigh over 200 pounds.
