It really could cause alot of problems. I think that our global warming is going faster than what they thought. Just look at the weather, it is not at all like it used to be. Almost every thunderstorm is severe, other storms are worse.

I guess the positive news is that shipping channels will open up over the arctic circle. The bad news is that any of us living within a few miles of a coastal area could be underwater if we stay where we are. I certainly wouldn't be looking to buy any beachfront property in the next few decades.
Can't some company find a way to harvest the ice on the big chunk and sell it off as a collector's item? I bet there'd be a lot of people who'd like to buy parts of a genuine iceberg.

yes, i can see it now taking pride of place in my freezer!...or maybe people could go live on it, i mean, if its floating around the sea you would get to see the world! lol!...though i'd keep a boat handy in case the ground one day disappeared..:)

I read that on Fox News the other day. Apparently it broke off 16 months ago and was recently found. Makes you wonder how well scientist really monitor the frozen areas.
