Execution of Saddam Hussen

Although what Saddam did in Iraq is open to the whole world and most of us would dissaprove of his barbaric acts. But i feel upset about the execution. I feel that 'an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth' is not justice. Was there no alternative to execution? Couldn't he be exiled? I need your views on the subject to help me find out whether capital punishment to Saddam was indeed politically correct?

yes this is harsh but that is common in islamic countries. cant you remember the hanging of preveious prime minister of pakistan mr. julfikar ali bhutto by their military generals only. this time saddam by american supported iraq govt.

Bye gones are byegones and let us not turn back. Everyone including President Bush (this I mean it from my own conviction) has regrets for what has come to pass. But, Saddan invited no better an option for the world and for us as well. His acts have emboldened the terrorists the world wide and the key to suppress terrorism was, to an extent in his hands as well, but he decided to give the terrorists the liverage. As I have already stated earlier as well, President Bush has had no intent (none whatsoever) to prove Saddam wrong and that is why he gave him an opportunity for exile. Had Saddam acceded to this ultimate wish of US, it may have been that Saddam could today have lived happily united with his sons and daughters and the entire family. In which event, Iran could have been in the dock with no chance for Ahmedinejad to find space enough to accommodate his hell-bent words against Israel. These rogues therefore, do not deserve to see better days and Saddam took the first count to hell. No, no regrets for a person having done a bad turn to the world and given a direction to terrorism to menace the world.

Poliically its correct or not its not the matter we cant place our disucussions regarding this matter in the net but we can our opinions. See execution of saddam has made the BBC channel itself towards saddam althrough the they was showing his history like that so we can say that it had mostly hurt many peoples heart.Me too and he is also an dictator after hitler none can stop him but atlast and end has came to him.

One of the key aspects that many overlook with this execution was the actual process. This was overseen by Shiite muslims who in the last moments of Saddam's life taunted his Sunni background. I believe there was a vast secular background to this execution that was not covered in the media. In response to the exile question, exile only satisfies to get him out of the country. As seen in other terror rings, location is not a factor in effectiveness. No one has seen Bin Laden for years, yet his network lives on. Political correctness I don't think is the underlying issue here. Timing I believe is. He was executed for the murder of 148 people. He was still on trial for a much larger crime and still had another trial lined up. I think this was too quick. He had to die for there to be any sort of closure to the matter.

What else could they have done with him? An evil legend would have continued to remain a danger to the Iraqi people even if he had remained in jail...his supporters had the chance tp regroup and begin a fresh attempt to throw the present govt. Again, Bible prophesy had to be fulfilled. And that is what happened.

I think it was totally necessary. I believe in Capital Punishment and he just needed to go. Then there is no threat to him escaping or causing anymore trouble. He really and truly got what he deserved. I know what you are saying about an eye for an eye but in this case I think it doesn't apply. I think we should do away with these people and save the tax payers money.

This is a thought. In the past people like Saddam have had followers that have taken hostages in order the free them from jail.

The era of Saddam has been put to an end but i feel capital punishment for such a well known leader is unacceptable. He was indeed a barbarian and a bloody tyrant and there is many other way to punish a culprit. There are thousand of followers who still believe "He is GOD" and this thing should be considered too.I really find it hard to understand,in such a modern era capital punishment is followed where there is no sign of humanity. We get to live once. From politically view,it is not a fair result,it is actually building up a inferiority complex between a Muslim society and Christian society
