It has been said that women are the most effective leaders in today's world. According to a comprehensive analysis, women in managerial positions are better leaders than men in equivalent positions. The study showed that women are more likely to use leadership styles that produce better worker performance and effectiveness. Women are more likely to be transformational leaders, defined as those who serve as role models and mentors. Research also showed that higher standards are often imposed on women to attain leadership roles and to retain them. Suffice it to note, it has been said that women maybe more skillful leaders than men because they have to meet a higher standard. Are women overpowering men nowadays? Or are they on equal grounds? Who do you think is best for leadership roles in the workplace - men or women?

In the recent time it has really proved that Woman leadership can equally their counterparts in evry field of work.I personaly feels that Woman managers have better managerial skills than a man. They not only take decisions through their mind but in their decision there is a balance between mind and heart..that is professionalism as well as emonational..

I have a female boss and female manager and I love it! I worked for all guys at my last job and I found the guys to be more demanding and less caring. Now that I work with a lot of women, I find myself more willing to do work for them because they are just nicer in general. You catch more flies with honey, or something like that! I just found the guys that I worked for before were more "do this now!" where as the women I work for will say "Can you do this now, please? Thanks!!" which is just nicer!

In the modern world women no doubt are overpowering men in every field of work. Even army is not left out. They have proved to be better for the reason they are able to analyse the problem to the core while their male counterpart see to the problem on the face of it and try to solve it for then. However I will not agree that women are better managers. They tend to lose their cool in tense situations and cannot manage the case.

With the example given about women in the army, are you saying that women can go into the army but they are not fit to acquire the higher or highest positions because of their nature and they couldn't be able to manage the soldiers under them?

Actually, I would like to see the comprehensive analysis that the poster references. I don't think that being a leader has anything to do with being a man or woman, but rather, each individual's particular style. This study is the type that would be very hard to prove with raw data. I would agree, however, that it is more difficult for woman to achieve CEO or leadership positions in general than it is for men. A quick peek at the number of women in Congress would show that. Mike

Well, I have to say that I've had both good male and female managers, and I've had bad male and female managers. From my experience, gender was irrelevant. It was up to the individual's peronality and his/her comfort level in the leadership role. I have friends who say that their female managers were excellent mentors to them, and then I have other friends who say their female managers were just a bunch of gossips. Then others say their male managers were so insecure that they micromanage the employees' every move. So it's really hard to generalize by gender.

That could be true too. Maybe I just had bad experiences with the men and good with the females, but I guess it came down to the fact that the women seemed more interested in my life outside of work, whereas the men were all about "work work work and do this now!". I have men in my area that are very nice, but I do not directly work for them so I can't say how they'd be as a boss. All I know is that when my boss retires, I hope another person (male or female) just like her fills her spot!

I think that women and men can both be effective leaders in work, however, there are still a lot of companies that don't allow women to prove this. I agree that things are improving, but there are still companies that don't make it easy for women and still a number of men who can sometimes resent advancements for women, especially when it comes to helping with child care and other traditional female roles. Both genders are able to accomplish a great deal in the workplace, but I do think that there are often higher standards for women. I have seen women who work very hard and receive little appreciation for it, when male co-workers who do less are more valued. I'm not saying that this is how it is everywhere, but there need to be equal performance evaluations across the board.

In my opinion equal priority must be given to both men and women... so its better to talk about men and women but not about men or women......... also about the potential about the men or women has, that depends on the individual. if he/she is well qualified for the leader post then independent of whether he/she it must be given to him/her... And also there are many men leaders and women leaders as well though very less... so In any issue its better to talk about men and women than men or women,it builts strong community.

women are now more or less in equal terms with men. but e=wherever i have been , in offices or industries, i always happen to find tat ther are relatively more leaders or bosses than women . i don't know whether women are better leaders , but if you talk about leaders , scientists have also pproved that men are better leaders in times of crises or war situations,.

I think leadership is not about gender, it's about the ability to handle such responsibility. Willing to help and lead the nation with the common interest of the people in their minds.

Women are definitely more effective leaders.Under any circumstances, women has the ability to remain focused on their target. They don't loose their head under presser. They have a very useful quality of adapting themselves to any adverse situation and then turning it to their liking. They are more capable of handling workplace pressure than any man.

it is very difficult to judge who is better leader between women and men. Even the reasearchs, analysis, statistics are also not consistent.

i don't think that women are greater leaders than men. I don't think that women are more intelligent than men. I also don't think that women are much stupid than men. I saw both stupid men and women, both intelligence men and women. We all are humans, isn't it? We are equals..

I think that They coth bring awesome traits to bat, I think that they should not allow ledership to go to one man or one woman alone, I think that it should be joint, One man AND one woman, Because then you have the overpowering, the love, care, respect and maretnal instincts to go along with much more, This way it's like the perfect mother/father system... I just think it should be equal, After all, this world lately is majorly trying to present Equality, and it doesn't seem to be working too well with their pidally efforts.... Blessed be
