Well I do RPG via emails which are sometimes known as PBEM's I enjoy it a great deal. We set up games and characters and then basically it's like writing a book on line. We interact with our characters and of course you never know what might happen since it's not scripted at all. It's a lot of fun. I've been playing for almost 7 years now. I've played all sorts of characters too, men, women, kids, adults, mutants, aliens, even animals depending on the game.

I have often heard of people playing chess via mail and emails. This is the first time I hear of anyone actually roleplaying that way. I have tried it with one other person and it is very much like writing a book. Could you tell me more about this form of roleplaying? I would be very interested in perhaps joining your RPemail group if its possible.
Thanks!

I enjoy the Storyteler system, and have narrated quite a lot of sessions.

Haven't done any role playing except the ones I used to invent when I was a kid with some friends, and the video games you can find around the digital world. Only recently I decided to get more into White Wolf's universe and try getting the feeling of what a real role playing game is.

I love to role play. MANY kinds
I primary online forum based role playing, actually its my second largest obsession right beside anime and manga... and drawing...
I play D&D on occasion but not alot.
I've played LARP's and MMORP's. My most favorite of all is Online forum based RP's I've spent countless hours, posting in such forums.

I have been roleplaying for the past 15 years or so. I mainly prefer playing tabletop and LARPs. I have dabbled a bit in online roleplay, although I find it difficult to get into it without the immediacy afforded by tabletop and LARP.

I'm a roleplayer! Right now I'm in a SLA Industries game, but I've played many tabletop games. Started with D&D with a person whose kids I babysat for when I was a preteen or so. I didn't discover White Wolf until about 8 years ago, but I rather love their games. Mechwarrior is another big one that my group plays, but I like it less now that I work in a bank and all the numbers start to make me fell like I'm at work.
Online I play WoW, and Kingdom of Loathing, which is just way too fun and clever.

I used to be huge into roleplaying. I did the AOL chat scene for a while, PBEMs, some roleplays through livejournal...I never touched the table-top or LARP stuff, though. Now that I've gotten older, I've seriously lost interest and as such, only play with a friend on AIM every once in a while. I think I like it better this way. :)

I play tabletop roleplaying once a week and I love it. Currently we play a swedish famous RPG called Drakar & Demoner (resembles Dungeons and Dragons in the name^^), but really it's more wiking-inspired and well, very well made.
More than that I host a forum RPG in vampire-style, I also play other RPG's such as World of Darkness but that is rather rare.

Hey there, misskatonic--awesome name! It reminds me of Lovecraft. :)
I used to be a diehard EverQuester, but have also messed around in Anarchy Online, Dark Age of Camelot and, most recently, Vanguard. I usually play either a rogue or a shadow knight.

I used to roleplay about two years ago, mainly online, IRC and AIM, but then I stopped due to work commitments. Now though, I'm thinking of picking it up again. Roleplaying was great fun in making appreciate my characters more, making them more realistic and fun.

Yeah, I used to play roleplaying games! My favorite, and really the only one I played, was the tabletop version of Vampire the Masquerade. I moved out of state, and where I live now, no one plays. I really miss that game, it was always so fun. Of course we didn't always play by the rules, but it was still so fun. You ever play VTM? I liked being a Malkavian or a Gangrel. I never really chose Nosferatu or any other gross ones. I guess some could consider the Gangrel to be gross, since it's like an outcast. I chose that one because of the animalistic qualities they had. The Malkavians were just the crazies. Oh, man I really miss playing. I never really played D&D, or LARP. I wasn't sure how to LARP to Vampire the Masquerade. They have a new version of VTM out now, a D-20 system. I liked the old D-10 system myself. If you haven't played this particular one, I'd say to defintly try it!

I'm into D&D right now. I used to play 'World of Darkness' until my GM decided he wanted to kill everyone off.

I haven't done any tabletop gaming in years and years. We used to play D&D, Gurps Middle Earth, Chill, and a handful of others. I've done some online roleplaying, but it's not really gaming. Like Milliways, if you're familiar with it. But I've got two kids and would lose track of the came by not having enough time, and just couldn't stay involved. It's a lot of fun, though, if you've got the time for it. I've got a single friend who is really involved in it, and I adore my kids and all my activities, but sometimes I really envy her having hours and hours to get lost in another world.
