Who is your favorite authors? I love reading books by Nicholas Sparks, Danielle Steel, Mary Higgins Clark, John Grisham. I always have a book going I would be lost without having the ability to read. I have read the whole series of the Left Behind Series and would recommended it to anyone who has not yet read it.
God Bless and Have a Happy New Year

I have only watched the JK Rowlings Harry Potter series, I know the books are always better than the movies. If there is a movie I really want to see like The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks I have to read it first, which I have now done and I am going to put it on my Netflix list. I use to read Sidney Sheldon along time ago. Thanks for responding to my post and Happy Reading

I like Danielle steel books too and even barbara bradford too. I also read robert ludlum one of my favorites. As a kid did you read Nancy Drew mysteries, I miss them. Now they don't make any sense to me but at one time I used to really read them non stop. Now I wonder why? Even Famous five I read one I bought for my son it was still interestingt read.

I loved Nancy Drew when I was young. I use to read under the covers with a flashlight until dad came in and took the light away.... I knew better on a school night but I could not put them down. Another series of books I loved were the Bobbie Twins. I haven't picked up any of them since I became an adult, but would most likely read one if it jumped into my hands LOL. I love to read and have so many books but need a big shelf to but them on. Most of them are stored under the bed. The apartment building we live in has a library which is really great. Most of the books are donated, but they do get alot of books from the main library in our area and keep them for a couple of month. I have started getting the Readers Digest Select Edition books. I know they are condensed stories and leave some parts out, but it has to be approved by the author, Plus I am 51 yrs old and my eyes are getting bad. I would like to get all the books read that I like before my time is up.
Thanks for the memories of my youth. Took me awhile to remember the bobbie twins though.
God Bless
Carolyn

It's been awhile since I've read a book for fun. Most recently I've been reading baby books and before that journal articles on HIV education. For pleasure I have enjoyed Dan Brown, Mary Higgins Clark, Patricia Cornwell, VC Andrews, Judy Blume, and Ken Follet. Happy New Year!

I forgot about Patricia Cornwell, I love her books because they all seem to take place in and around VA where we use to live. I haven't read any lately though although I have some on our shelf and mostly underbed. Need a bigger book shelf lol. Dad got me a book by VC Andrews haven't read it yet. I found a book at Good Will last time we were there by Jan Karon who is a Christian and writes very wholesome books. The book I am reading is about the 7th in a series. I also have a book by Dan Brown on the shelf, Listened to Demons and Angels (not sure of the name) and saw the DeVince Code movie. He is a very good author.
I have started getting the Readers Digest Condensed books, I figured as much as I like to read I will never get them all read in my life time. Anytime you want to borrow any just let me know. I trust you to borrow them, after all I know where you live LOL...

I love all of Murakami's books particularly The WInd Up Bird Chronicles, anything by Somerset Maugham, Fay Weldon, Herman Hesse, Doris Lessing and Julian May. I don't read so much these days _ I listen to talking books cos it frees me up to play on the computer, draw or paint at the same time!

Well, we have at least one author in common! I too love John Grishams work; in fact he may well be my favorite author at this point in my reading life. I also enjoy Stephen King, anything that has to do with making me a better writer, such as Writers Digest, and many, many more. ~Rj
