My dad wants to give us living room funiture and I am not sure I want it. He is remodeling his livingroom and the furiture he wants to give me is only 2 years old and very nice. I have nice funiture though and I like the way it looks. Anyway, I told my best friend this and she said she would love to have my stuff if I took my dad's funiture. This would be great for her due to the condition of her set and she has been a great friend in time of need. I would love to do this for her also. Dad called today a laid a big one on me. He said that if I wanted his funiture I had to give my stuff to his step-son who I know very little of. This bothers me due to the fact that the funiture I have was my mothers. It pisses me of he would put strings on a gift. I never ask him for a dime and did not ask him for this and now I do not know what to say to him.Tell him to Keep it or keep my mouth shut. I feel my step mother has always got right in the middle of things and this is just one more way. The witch has much of my mother's dishes, etc. and they both refuse to give them back. I try to let sleeping dog lye with him but this is making them howl. Help me know how to handle this.

Oh no way! This is sad and from what you describe, just another way to get more of your mother's things. I would say, no thanks! Keep your furniture and tell your dad why! Then I would help my friend find the furniture she needs. Do you have a local freecycle list in your area?

Isen´t it strange that people act like this. I mean if he want´s to give u this things he should not put a rule that u need to do things in his way with your stuff. I would not take it ..like u say it´s things from your mom and I would keep it. Why don´t he give his stuff til this guy instead then the problem is sorted out thought.
