...So what do you think, will the New SW Show be a hit, or a bust?I think the concept is interesting. It's going to be a venue where all the stories of all of the secondary characters and Jedi can be told. Stories of Jedi being hunted by Vader and Bounty hunters, and all of the other supporting roles of characters around the SW galaxy that some may have wondered about, and with planned guest appearances by some of the main character actors from the movie, it could be gold. Apparently the story will take place in a 20 year span between Episode 3 and Episode 4.
But at the same time I do see the potential for huge disappointment here, it all depends on their execution I guess. Let's hope they get some good writers for the series, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless.

Where did you hear this???? There is nothing left to say between the times you are refering too. The Jedi were all nealry wiped out when we left them at the end of Revenge of the Sith (there were only yoda and Obi wan left)
or are you refering to the comics?

Well I admit until I read this I hadn't heard of it. That being said I think it could be well done and an interesting show. One I would check out. I do see the potential for problems though. I know I've seen many tv shows based off movies (and vice/versa) were the writers didn't really know the movies and contradicted them in the TV Show story line. That just causes the viewers to get upset and lose interest. Hopefully though they will do this one correctly. I look forward to seeing it when it comes out. I hope it's in my area.

Exactly, tv gives you the room you need to expand on ideas you would otherwise have to rush through in a movie.
For some things TV is actually better, can you imagine trying to something like the show '24' in a movie format, lol.
I know that's a little outlandish for an example, but still :p

I'm really looking forward to it.
I think that's the best time period to place the show (between episodes 3 and 4). They can have Darth Vader in it from time to time, and since he's in costume, anyone can play him. Though if they do use Vader, they really need to get James Earl Jones to do the voice. They can do Boba Fett and bounty hunter stories too. I agree with you about the Jedi. Who's to say that ALL the Jedi were on Corsucant at the time of the slaughter? They can even have Uncle Owen and Beru, and get the young actors who played them in episode 2. Plus a young Luke and Leia. So many characters and species to choose from. Hope for the best!

I didn't know about the tv show until you mentioned it. I will probably watch it if it is on network TV as I don't have cable. But, maybe I'll have cable by the time it comes out.

I so look forward to the tv show too. i love all of the movies new and old and hope that the tv show will be just as good. I have read a few of the star wars books that were before episode one about qui gon and his apprentice obi wan and they were good little stories, so would imagine the tv series will be just as good. will be great if darth vaders in it too. we need more darth vader! 2008 is a long time to wait though. hope it comes sooner than that.

is there anything left to be told? hehe.. i mean, they cleared everything about the main characters in the trilogy right? so the series will be about the secondary characters.. the issues in the movie are already solved in the movies,, so how boring can that get?

You're right. It could either be great, or it could be a huge disappointment. Lucas and company really let me and a lot of fans down with the bad quality of Episodes I-III.
So I'm going to reserve judgment until I see it. And it's set for 2008 debut; a lot could happen between now and then.

until recently I had all but forgotten about Star Wars. I've seen the new xbox games though and they are really a lot of fun. You get to make individual descisions that add light or dark force to your charactwer. I would watch the show--at least give it a chance. I hope that they write and cast them well.
