Tamil is the oldest language.
Tamil language has existed for more than 5000 years.
"Tholkappiyam" is said to be the worlds' oldest surviving grammar for any language has beeen credited as its oldest work available today, whereas the exact origins the great work "Thirukkural" still remains unknown.
It is said that the golden age of tamil literature is the third sangam period, which is hardly 1800 years ago.
Previous to this, there were two sangam periods!!
The period of thes three academics as a whole is from 3000 B.C. to 250 A.D.
Tamil civilisation is as old as harappa civilisaton..
Yet, research is going on to trace the start of tamil culture...
For sure, I can say that Tamil is the oldest language...

It definitely the Sanskrit, the mother of all Indian languages. There is no doubt in such point but every language as its own importance. All the Epics of India are been written in Sanskrit and then translated to other languages. Every literature and all the vedas are been written in sanskrit and then to other languages. But feel the source of all language in India is just Sanskrit.
