Has anyone here heard of this? Well here in the Uk this is a Loan that People can apply for when they are on Disability ( like me) Jobless or Social
Anyway as some in here know I am moving or hoping to be
I am having Problems getting the Bond Money and first month Rent which is required as the Council pays the rent in Arreas from the Council and I was told to try this for the rent and the Bond
Well a couple of Months ago I saw a Documentary on TV where a single Mum is getting this Crisis Loan every Year to buy her Child Christmas Presents
So I applied and guess what I got refused
The Situation is my Son has given me notices which I have to get of him anyway and also him and his Partner want their own Life now so I sent the Copy of the Notices in and also the Doctor report saying that it is best for my Health to move out of the Area as it is air here
Anyway Reason I got refused
Reasons
Rent deposit
They are not allowed to pay
Rent in Advance
We can only pay a crisis Loan if there is no other way of preventing a serious Risk to the Health and Safety of you
Now can someone please explain to me that it is not a Health Risk of being removed of the Premises as I have had my Notices which are actually for today but of course my Son will not kick me out
And also they have a Doctor report stating that she will support my move away from the Area as the Air is poluted badly and it is a risk to my Health
Also can someone explain to me
How is it a Health and Safety Risk that a single Mum is not able to buy her Child Christmas presents even though single Mums here are well looked after money and housing wide
So the Single Mum gets this Loan to buy Christmas Presents
but
A Disabeled Person who has had notices to move out and nowhere to go
and who is being caused a lot of Distress and anxiety through this which affects her Illness does not get it as it is not a Health Risk ?????
If anyone knows how to explain the justice of this to me please do

I am not sure what they would call it over there but here in the U.S. we have what is called legal aide they pay an attorney to represent you as you are being refused help you are entitled to go to court and battle with them through the means of the legal system call or email tv stations with it make it public knowledge then you will get there attention giving it to a single mum to buy christmas presents is wrong she could have made the children something for christmas I made 4+ kids stuff for christmas every year.I wish you luck and you know I would help you in a heartbeat hope all goes well keep me up to date.

It sounds like the way these payments work everywhere. The ones who "know" the system are the ones who get everything. Can you appeal?

Good luck with the council today. Hope everything works out. Another idea might be to get a local councillor on your side if you haven't done so.

oh man.... I've lived in scotland and england and I tell you, the social is one seriously messed up place. I used to be on the social and am seriously glad that I am off that joke now.. I will be honest with you on this from my own eyes and judgement but it seems that the reason everyone is coming to the uk is because of the social system, it seems that our government is taking more of an interest in people wanting asylum over here, don't get me wrong I have nothing wrong with anyone that wants asylum. but if you take a look at the statistics of this all with regards to our government, well it seems that if your a single asylum seeker, then basically your entitled to the same as someone on high rate disability, I saw evidence of this whilst in scotland and boy was I ticked off. but getting back to the point here, I can tell you right now gabs, because your living with your son, the social see it as your son will give you some leway on the notices and not remove you. Which I am sorry to hear, what I would do is recommend speaking with the C.A.B and if that does not work, take it up with your M.P. Apart from that I can not think of anything else, for which I am sorry, but all the best in this. PS!!!!!!! please let us know what happens.

hiya again gabs, why not try and apply for a community care grant this does not have to be paid back it's for when you move house and to buy furniture etc and you could use that for a deposit or maybe a budgeting loan, this has to be paid back with " interest free"! hope this helps. Megan!

Hi there Megan the first one I am not entitled to again and the second one well I have only just now been granted the Income in January last year I got told I am not entitled and when all this started the Council said to apply for it as I should be and guess what I am entitled to an extra £115 a fortnight and they have saved 12 months money on me as I can not prove I applied for it in January and you have to be in receipt of Income support for 25 weeks
I am appealing against it anyway so waiting for outcome next step is Citizen Advice

I am on a disabled pension as well Gabs, and what I would do is to go to your health minister or someone that represents that section and try to get them to look into this problem, as this is a health problem like you said the air polution and you cannot breath properly, and show them the letter from your doctor as well. I think that this maybe the only way you will get somewhere with Council good luck with this.

I live in Canada and I too live on a Disability Pension. I really can't explain it to you but it happens here too. I wouldn't say that single moms have an easy time of it but they have better benefits. I was a single mom on disability with two kids, it wasn't easy but I have to say that it was easier than right now. I survive and that is about it. I'm sorry I can't begin to explain it but I totally agree with you. We get the shaft because we're disabled? I think that we have enough problems.

My friend has had a few of these, so i can give you some tips on the phore or form when you are applying say that you need money for gas/electricy and food as well as toiletries. They will give you £6 per day until your next payment date so if you get paid in one week £42, you are guareented to get it as long as you say this hope it helps. Need anymore help pm me.
P.S they class a health risk as you getting the cold or not being able to eat, stupid but it is what they do.

Thats horrible. What is wrong with people? I sometimes think they are being paid off. Because when you hear of something like that happening its way to bazzar for them even getting in the program. You really wonder how they do get in these programs when they dont need it. Now people like you deserve it and dont get it. Oh gabs it makes me so mad. I could spit.

That's sad I hope you can come up with something that those in authority will understand. I wish I can speak for you but I come from the part of the world where the case is a little different. We have a calamity loan, it can be availed of by people who are affected by natural calamities and disasters. As long as someone is a resident of the community affected, he can surely get a soft loan.

I have many experiences of crazy social service decisions through my mum who was a single mum on benefits for many years. However we have appealed and won every decision that has gone against her. Appeal it, don't just accept what they say. Get fee legal advice alos. There are many companies that will do this.

It just does not make sense to me Gabs. Here in the USA We dont have such a fund. The churches usually take care of emergencies of this nature. It just does not seem fair not fair at all. If i could bring you to my home I would. As far as justice Gabs there is none.
