What is your closest brush with death?

I've never been in a serious auto accident. Your story and the others here who've already posted are scary!!! The closest I've ever come was sliding into a snowbank in the roadside ditch when I accidentally hit a patch of ice and fishtailed and lost control of the car. I wasn't hurt, but I sure could've been. I was so lucky. That one frightened me quite a bit -- I'm basically a good driver and I'm usually in control of the car, so it was very scary to be sliding sideways down the interstate going about 50mph and have no control over the car whatsoever. There were a few times when I was a kid that I actually almost did die. I know I got into poison of some kind when I was 1 or 2. I remember almost drowning when I was 4; I had to be resuscitated. You'd think that would've put me off water and swimming, but no way! :) My family and I were in a tornado when I was a little older that tore up a lot around us but basically spared our house (thank goodness!). Then there is the lawn mower incident... that one is probably the most memorable for me. I was terrified. I was 7 years old and I got pinned under a tractor mower because no one knew I was there. I have a lot of little scars and one big one that starts down where your leg meets your body, curves up across my stomach, past my waist, and around to my back. Everyone was so afraid I'd be all self-conscious about it, but I never cared. It's a conversation piece. :) I wear bathing suits, etc., and don't give it much thought. I've even forgotten about it altogether till someone asks me about it.

its a hard 1 to pick as ive had 2 first 1 was a car crash where the car fliped over a couple of times and landed on its roof just managed to get out before the petrol tank set on fire the second was a motorbike crash where i ended up with the handlebars stuck in my chest the hospital said another inch to the left it would have gone into my lung and killed me

Some heavy bricks hit my head and i gone to hospital straight and they fixed it i needed to be there for about a week until i could go back
