Why is it that sometimes I reply to a topic and I have the only descent reply (not few word answers) and they still do not pick that it is best response. I pick one on all of mine even if it is just an opinion topic. I know that it helps them out, so why not? It only takes a few seconds and I usually go back and respond a few times a day anyways. I just don't know why others dont. Do you usually pick a best response??

I don't post many discussions but for the few I have posted I rate everybody who responds and I also leave a comment after their response. I have always waited a day or two before selecting a best response because of the time difference between countries, this give anybody who is interested, time to give a best response. I have noticed that a lot of people are only interested in posting discussions and never rate or comment on responses. I don't believe they even bother to come back and read the responses. It makes it hardly worth while responding to these discussions. I have given you a plus for this topic.

I try to keep up with it, but sometimes I find it is impossible to leave a comment after every one's replies. I wish I could do that, though. I used to, so hopefully I can start again soon. I try to give the topics that I respond to a plus. And any answers that are good and relevant to the discussion. I think it helps both parties to do that.

I read in the faqs page I think, that it is good to allow quite a few people to reply first before marking a best response. That gives more people a chance to reply and you a chance to get a good answer. I remember a complaint over picking a best response in the first 3 or 4 answers in a discussion.

I tend to leave mine for a few days before picking (though I have a couple of disucssions that I haven't picked at all - mainly cause nothing sticks out as something I consider best :-) ).
Remember too that sometimes a best response can be picked after several days, then another few days after that someone might come along with what could be considered a better answer :-)

Yeah, I try to give my topics a little bit of time before I pick a best response. I've seen alot of people just pick the first person that answers even if it is a good answer or not. I don't really agree with that, but hey, at least they pick one. lol.

I just learned about this best reply thing now Sarah. I am not yet very knowledgable about mylot. Still learning things. It is good that you started this discussion. I will go back to the discussions I started and pick best response, I will surely pick one now that I know it will benefit the other member too. Thanks for reminding.

I do always pick a best response. I like it when I receive them and I imagine others also like it. I will let the discussion go inactive before I choose, but usually it will be after it has reached 10 responses, anyway.

In that case, because people are lazy. They just don't check back. i'll admit, sometimes I forget to mark a best response. I make a few discussions a day, and it's easy to forget. And sometimes I can't choose a best response. But I always try to.

I am new here and have only started two topics of discussion of my own, but both times I have picked a best response. I heard that it helps us to earn here at Mylot, and I am all for helping others to earn as much as I am here for helping myself to earn. I will always strive to remember to pick a best answer for any topic that I start here on Mylot! ^_^
