What are your reading goals for 2007? How many books do you want to

read? Any specific titles on your list? Do you have a "To Be Read" pile or list? So far I have read "Life, The Universe, and Everything" by Douglas Adams this year. I'm also working on Odd Thomas (for the third time) and Brother Odd by Dean Koontz, Fluke by Christopher Moore, and Lolita. I plan to read all the Harry Potter books again in preparation for the new book. I also want to read Eldest (the follow up to Eragon). My goal this year is 50 books. I'd like to read more of the good stuff this year - The Handmaid's Tale, Hemingway, etc.

I participate in a forum where they do a "50 book challenge" every year. I can't read nearly that many, but one of my goals this year is to read more books. Right now I'm working my way through the three books of the Baroque Cycle by Neal Stephenson. It's tough going, but really well written.

I wouldn't be able to read 50 books in a year either. I'm reading "Why I'm Like This" currently. It's only 200 pages. And I read for a few hours a day. I am still not done with it and I started on it in December! I don't read everyday, but still. But when I read audiobooks, I can read one book in a day or just a couple days. Problem is, those are so much more expensive.

Did you see the movie A Scanner Darkly? The book is on my list too. I saw the movie and wasn't too impressed. It had a good writer, good director, good producer, and good actors... but the movie bit big time. Sartre? Have fun with that. I have found that he and DesCartes are both full of themself and arrogant and it's hard to get through all the arrogant drivel to what they are really trying to say. They use ridiculous words for the sake of being pompous and have sentances that are a whole paragraph long. But I'm glad you're reading it. Enjoy!

I don't set a goal each year, I just enjoy reading. But I can say, I would like to read the entire Dark series by Christine Feehan. I just started it not long ago. And since I like to start from the beginning of the series, I have to try to find each book at the local used book store. So far I am a chapter away from being done with the 6th book of the series. I think there are 13 or 14 in the series. I don't remember. But the series is really great. I am not one to read books on vampires, but it was strongly suggested by my sister and after a couple years of her poking at me...I finally gave in and read the first book. Now, I am addicted to it and have to read the entire series. But I also want to read Angels and Demons by Brown. Among other things that have written down. Or should I say have in a spread sheet on my computer downstairs? LOL Yes, I actually have a spread sheet of books that I want to read, books that I have read (so I do not re-read or think I have not read them because titles can be so close to one another and I am horrible with names) and books that my daughter wants and read. This way is the best organization for me. And when I include books my daughter has read ot wants, it gives me something to look for her when I am at th book store too. :)

Well I don't really have a goal really. I do plan on trying to find some more Dan Brown books and hoping to read the new Harry Potter book. I just read books as I find them. I figure though I'll read between 75 and 150 books this year varying from fluff to more serious books. I'm a very fast reader so for me to read a book in a day is not unusual.

Wow that's great. I set my goal at 50 because I work and go to school too. Last year I almost made my goal (I'd have made it if I counted text books - but I don't). So I'm planning to read as much as I can before school starts again the 8th and get a head start.

I wish I could read that fast!!! All the books that I could accomplish reading! I don't read very fast but I always have my nose in a book anywhere I go. So, if I am waiting, I can bust out my book and read. Plus, having seven kids kinda stops me from reading as much as I want. Then....once I joined myLot, I found I am up to the wee hours on myLot and still have to read before going to sleep. I think I am going to have to cut by myLot time because I can not stand not reading as much.

I am interested in reading anything written by Nicholas Sparks. I would also like to read something about the 9/11. Also, a good old-fashioned romantic novel would be nice since I haven't read one in years!

I don't read a lot of stuff, but I actually do have a goal this year to read more. It is rather disappointing that I have so many books here that I'd love to read, and haven't. I'm currently working on "Why I'm Like This". I have so many other books to pick from after this. Some I think I'll just resell on Ebay without reading. But I have others that I'd really love to read. Some are above my reading level, but I hope to read them anyway. My goal is just to improve my reading as much as I can. I want to read more audiobooks as well and might rent some again soon. I've read The Handmaid's Tale on audio, I'd recommend it!

I love to read and it depends on the book but sometimes I can read it and finish it in just a day or two, when i have alot of times on my hands that is. I do wish i had more time to read, but when i do find a good book i usually canĀ“t stop readig it =) I have no goal, but i will for sure try to read more this year!

I don't have any specific titles in mind but I would like to be able to complete a few good books during this year. Last year was SOOO busy with a new baby and all that I did not have enough time to read much of anything. Things have settled down and are more predictable now so hopefully that will allow me to read more. I love to read.

I don't really have reading goals in regards to specific titles or quantity. I'm not even sure how many books I read last year, although I know it's quite a few. I've never had trouble reading several fiction books in a year, so I'm trying to incorporate more non-fiction in my reading lists. I started doing that toward the end of 2006, and I'm hoping to do the same this year.

That is a worthy goal! I could read a little more nonfiction myself.

I don't have a goal set, as I am always reading a good novel. I will make sure that I have every new book that James Pattersen puts out though. Along with some other favorites of mine. Mary Higgins Clark too. I like thrillers.

sadly because of my work schedule i don't get toread as much as i used to anymore. before i wouldn't buy another book unless i finish the one im currently reading but my ex just bought and bought books for me so now I have about 3 (all Stephen King's) that I haven't read and are just sitting on my shelf. I'm reading one right now but I'm going through a very slow pace. Before I could finish a paperback in about 3-4 days, that's how much time I had back then. So now I just plan to be able toread all those books sitting in my shelf before I buy new ones. And also, I just saw this list of banned books from the American Library Association (some of them sre Stephen King's too) so now I'm very curious about those and I hope toread some of them too. Especially the works of Judy Blume. So many of her books are banned and I just want to know why.

I don't have any reading goals.... I just read whatever I find. When I know I'm almost finished with a book, I'll stop at Walmart or the local bookstore and pick up a new one... I have friends that lend me books as well, so usually have a back up ready in case I finish one before I get to the store for a new one. I honestly have no idea how many books I read a year. Hmmm, that might be interesting to figure out! Since it's the beginning of the year, maybe I'll start keeping track!
